Anyone have FMS and Myofascial Pain Syndrome?

Well, it looks like I might have another disorder to add to my ever growing list.... No diagnosis yet, but I have all the symptoms and trigger points, etc.  Ropey knots in my legs, back, etc.

Just wondering if there are any of us here who have both syndromes?

Yes, I have both as well.  Was told by the doc that it's a "continueum"....one leads to the other.  The ropes and knots are so painful.  I've been having pain on my scalp, ear and neck area around the jaw...new pain.  When I touched my scalp it felt like I had banged my head on something....exquisitely tender to even light touch.  My neuromuscular massage therapist worked on the area last night and said the muscle band that extends from the jaw/ear back into the scalp was extremely tight and "ropey".  It was uncomfortable while she was working on it, but feels better today.  I have those "ropes" in my thighs and arms, too.  Has anyone ever had trigger point injections?

Lucy, I have sore spots all over my head too.

When I run my fingers over the outside of my thighs it feels like a washboard.

The TRPs have multiplied and spread.

Marlee, the outside of my left thigh is like how you described it, "a washboard".  I can't see the lumps, but I can sure feel them and they hurt!!  I have one lump, mid back, just to the left of my spine too.  I haven't found any others.  I had these lumps ultrasounded a couple of years ago.  The diagnosis was "lupus like tissue".  Whatever.... Because EVERYTHING is related to lupus if you have it! LOL.

So we'll see what my rheumy thinks.

All I know is that if I have both disorders, no wonder I feel like crap.... At least my lupus is quiet.  Something has to go right!!
