Arm weakness, tingling, pain is it Fibro?

Hi folks!

Haven't visited the list for a while, way too busy with work and life.  I have been having this symptom on and off for about a year.  Seems to be getting worse.  It's not something I have typically seen on most fibro symptom lists. Feels like the arm weighs a ton, and fingers won't cooperate sometimes.  Also get pain in my head (ear) down through my neck and into the shoulder on that side.  My guess is a possible pinched nerve from a myofacsial knot (of which I have many!).

I am always trying to explain away pain as something other than fibro...my pain doc's PA looked at me one day and asked what I attributed that day's pain to...I said that I had done some raking...and she just said "you have fibromyalgia".  Like just "get it", girl!

Anyway, rambling, sorry, anyone get this type of pain with fibro?

I was actually thinking myofascial pain too.  I have full blown fibro, but for the last 8-10 months I've also had pain that isn't fibro.  I too have quite a few of those myofascial knots.  Lots on my thigh, lower back, forearms.  I'm actually seeing my rheumy tomorrow regarding all this.  No diagnosis of myofascial pain syndrome, but I think it will be coming.

 

You could probably attribute it to fibro, MPS, or both!  Do you get physical therapy for your myofascial?

Sorry it took so long to answer back, yes I have had PT on and off for several years and just started another round.  The best PT I had really worked the myofascial trigger points, but they always come back.  Been told if I strengthen muscles I'd be less prone to the knots, but also been told not to try strengthening a muscle that has knots.  It would be nice if there was a concensus.
