Does anyone know anything about mysterious bruising related to Fibromyalgia? Recently, I've begun coming up with really ugly bruises without ever having realized I did anything to cause them. And since EVERYTHING I do causes pain, I can't imagine how this is happening without my feeling it! My daughter has Lupus, and I read something recently about Lupus and bruising.

Hi Suzi and welcome to the family. And that is exactly what it feels like here. Check out the fibro 101 thread. it has a bunch of great information on there.

I don't have mysterious bruising, I know why I get one, but I have noticed that I am bruising more easily since I have been on the Lyrica. Anyone else?

Okay, according to the website for Lyrica, bruising isn't one of the side-effects. Any other ideas?

Hi Suzi!

I am always finding a new bruise. Told hubby that I was going to get a 'Sharpie' and start labeling the spots I hit so I could remember where they came from. Do mention it to your doc because it may be something in the blood but if nothing shows up don't be too surprised.

I bruise very easily and sometimes I have no idea where the bruise came from. I realized not too long ago that the tiny bruises all over my thighs were from where my cats stand on my legs.

I have celiac disease in addition to fibro and with absorption issues going on, I sometimes need to take vitamin K. I do not take Lyrica, but I do take Cymbalta, I do not know that it has anything to do with those, but you might want to ask your dr. to check your vitamin levels as well as your blood levels just to be sure.

i bruise extremely easily, too easily and my doctor has put it down to my anaemia. have you had your iron levels checked?

Well, I go to see my new doctor on Friday. Since I have to be set up with meds all over again, I'll also ask him about it. Thanks for the suggestions, Maz, Chutzie amd Mrsppmrsky!

I bruise easily and I don't remember hitting the spot where a bruise appears. confused

All my blood work comes back normal.

I have noticed lately that I bruise easily. I take Lyrica, but I have been since for about 11 months so...and I am not anemic. I asked once about having little tiny circle bruises on my legs, never found out what they were from. So, I really havent found a cause myself... So, I dont know what could be done. They arent causing any problems, just that they are there and bug me since I dont know why or how! haha Anyways, good luck, and be careful!

Hi, Suzi, and welcome!  Easy bruising is one of the symptoms of fibromyalgia.  You will find a list of the symptoms on the Fibro 101 thread.

 

You should have your doctor run tests to rule out other illnesses so you don't have to worry about it.  That's what they usually do, along with a tender point test.  You will see a link in the Fibro 101 thread called "What Else Could It Be" and you will see why the doctors run these tests.  Fibromyalgia mimics other illnesses.  They can be tested for but there is no blood test for fibromyalgia.

 

Anyway, I wouldn't be too concerned.  We do bruise easily without feeling anything.

i bruise easy i hate it.. especially when it looks like i have in a fight but not much i can do about... all my levels check out fine
i am only take effexor xr... and just started amitryptelene


and i do bruise and know it i bruise heavy
