Neurontin

Neurontin is the brand name of gabapentin (generic).  Supposedly, the drug is similar to what is in Lyrica.  I've been on a low dose of Neurontin for aver 6 months, and I don't think it's doing much (for me, anyway).  But, my new doctor suggested that I may need a higher dose.

 

Just like every other drug, Neurontin affects everyone differently.  When I first started taking it, it made me a little bit sleepy, but when my mom had to take it (she had shingles about 5 years ago), it knocked her out.  Of course, this is the woman who gets high off of one Tylenol.

 

I hope something I said makes sense, LOL.

I have been on neurontin 600mg at night for a year after I was diagnosed with Restess Leg Syndrome which we now know was Fibromyalgia that had never been diagnosed. I take this along with Ambien CR and I finally get sleep without waking a thousand times a night. I do know it is also used with fibro patients to block pain. Take Care All!
