I went to the dr yesterday for my toe pain, It was a mild day not to cold

when i TOOK OFF MY SHOE my toes were purple. She said that I have reynauds and that the pain I am experiencing is because my feet probally got to cold and I did not even know it so the nerves did something i forget her terminology . However when I was there she asked if I had found a new rheumy I told her no she said she did not like the report she had gotten from him and reccomended me to go else where.She said his words in the report basically said I have arthritis on my spine but that it should not be  causing any pain, She said as a rheumy he should know that arthritis hurts and because I have fibro he should know that a little hurt can feel like a major one. I have not liked him from day one but felt stuck and now I am definatley going else where. Any one have any ideas how to keep my piggies warm.

At the Home DePot, Lowes, and such they have these little packets about three inches square, they call hand warmers. You just snap a little bubble in there and a chemical reaction occurs which generates heat. They shouldn't cost more than 50 cents ea. They are quite thin so they shouldn't feel lumpy, while you walk. If they do, place them under a pair of insoles. Also, I found these amazing angora socks, called "house socks" which feel wonderful on your feet. Warm, soft and silky. I only paid about $2.00 a pr. CDN. Should be less in US.

Be careful warming those toes. Sometimes you can't feel if it gets too hot.

Arthritis of the spine 'shouldn't cause pain?'  Is that guy serious?  LeeAnn, you shoulda poked him in the back with an ice pick and asked him if that hurt.  I had a gyno once tell me child birth 'isn't that bad'.  A man of course....then there was my first rheumy that said the two bulging discs in my back shouldn't cause tingling in my legs.

I have to wear knee socks in the winter...soft ones with no texture to them or my legs 'crawl.'  Then I wear another pair of socks over them.  Needless to say, I have to buy shoes two sizes too big to wear in the cold weather to accomodate all the socks.  Hope you find something that works for you!
