diagnosis confirmed!

I was given a definate diagnosis of fibromyalgia this morning at the doctors office. He did a thorough exam. I was positive in 16 out of the 18 trigger points. I also have sjogrens. Does any one here suffer from sjogrens and fibro? The wierd thing is last night i developed a rash on my cheeks. I have no idea what it is. It could be rosacea but i have never had rosacea before. It was a sudden onset. My last blood work that was done said I ad a negative sedrate which ruled out Lupus. But my doctor said he would not be surprised if I am also not dealing with an autoimmune disease. He said it may be an early onset and may not show up til down the road sometime. But the fibro will not turn into an autoimmune,, and that i will always have to manage the fibro. I am just glad i have found a doctor that will listen to me.

Be sure to check out the Fibro 101 thread....the second thread on the forum. There are links to some good info about fibromyalgia. The more you know about it the better you will be able to control it.

Teresa, I am glad you found this forum, you will find lots of answers and help here. I am sorry that you have been Dx, but the positive is that now you know what is going on. I would encourage you to get copies of all test results from this doc., to begin your own history and so that you can begin to learn the meanings of the many issues in this health challenge. One last thing- I thought that srogens is an auto immune disease. Do some reading on both because you may have unique challenges with the combination. Keep posting, we are always here for you.

you have found a wonderful place to come and share and gather information. the people here are incredibly kind and helpful, and as it's been suggested a couple of times, the fibro 101 thread is chocked full of useful information. i'm sorry you had to find us under these circumstances, but i am still very happy that you did. this really is a great place.

i am also so happy for you that you've found a doctor who LISTENS! they are sadly hard to come by sometimes.
