Hi Snow. I welcome you to the Fibro Forum, it seems to be one of the livlier forums on Healing-well. I belong to three, two for me and one because I care for my Dad late stage II alzheimers. So, new med for new diagnosis. There isn't anything out there (yet) to cure Fibro, although I think the Research and Development folk are getting closer to figuring out what will fix it. Personally, I believe it's all part of the endocrine system(hormones), and that figuring out which body chemistry regulator is out of whack, and fixing it, could take us in the right direction. Let's face it we live longer than ever, certain chemical factories in ourbodies, just wear out. For example, in my case most of my problems began when my thyroid did a lay down and die routine so I'm hypothyroid and have to borrow bovine (cow) thyroid hormone or I'll just wind down like the duracell bunny. Some days I feel exactly like that. I don't want to do anything. Everything hurts. I force myself to get up and do the basics, but basically only when I'm in my bed with my Bed Buddy (a heat wrap, not a boyfriend) on my shoulders and middle back, a heating pad on my toes, an electric blanket to pick up the slack, some tylenol w codeine for pain, amyltriptiline if necessary (It zones me out completely, I don't feel the pain cause I'm mostly asleep). Back to your question. I believe Lyrica is a new drug on the market that is supposed to help w Fibro. Also, many docs seem to think Cymbalta, an anti-depressant, and a few others helps with the pain of Fibro. Your doc may have one or more of these in mind. If you feel comfortable posting your signature (a list of Diagnosis'and meds to follow your post), go into control panel at top of page find signature, give whatever info you're comfortable giving, and our knowing what you already are taking might make it easier for us to guide you as many here are experiencing the same problems. I wish you all the best. Try to pace yourself. If someone close to you questions what you are going through there is a list of symptoms at the top of the Fibro Forum post.
