It will be a year this March that I have had consistent symptoms of fibro. I did have some about
4 years ago for a year, but much milder, and it went away.
What hasn't gone away is my shoulder, knee and back pain. I've had problems with my back since at least my late teens (I'm 39 now). I've had what I thought was bursitis in my shoulders for about
12 years, and patella femoral syndrome in my left knee for about
10 years. These all come and go with varying degrees of pain and limited movement. At the urging of my NP, I finally made an appointment for PT so I can get assessed and treated for these problems, which he doubts btw are what I was told they were.
So on to my questions:
Would these problems be caused by fibro? Or would they be aggravated by fibro? Is it something that would have to be treated differently in a fibromite?
My appointment with the PT is in 2 weeks, and I'm looking forward to it but also a little apprehensive. I've read some bad things on here about
PT if they don't know what they are doing with fibromites. But I'm not sure if my fibro is really at play here? Nevertheless, I'm lookign forward to relief. Both my right shoulder and my knee have flared up pretty bad for the last month or so. My NP had given me Diclofenac ointment for my pain in my hands and feet (which didn't work btw). I've been using it on my knee and shoulder with very limited pain relief, adn my shoulder has very limited movement right now. Both these are making the limbs next to them ache more, but that I know is fibro. It's so hard to separate what is what sometimes!
Thanks for your input and advice
