Husband now has fibro.,ever hear of passing it on??

Am having a very hard time right now, winter blues I guess. Pain is jusst out of control. See new Doc Thursday. Hope for pain relief. Have tried Lyrica-ick. Only thing that seems to help is pain meds so I can get out of bed and try to function. Haven't had enough so funtioning hasn't been easy. Husband also has this, have you ever heard of it being contagios?? I haven't, but he has it. Diag. 6 months ago. Any thought on that one.? Thanks,

Hi,

I get like that every Winter. Seems like it hits me hard January thru March. I really get bummed & can't wait for Spring. I think it also has to do with less sunshine.

I hope you are able to get something for your pain. If I didn't have mine I would not be able to get up and function either. I usually have to wait an hour after taking them before I can actually move around without pain at every step.

Now, I've never heard of it being contagious, but who knows? There is so many symptoms to Fibro and we find out new things every day. I'm curious...does his bother him less?

Hi there, about your hubby havin' FM, well I sometimes think mine does. He says its arthritis (in his younger days he broke a few bones) but one x-ray last year did not confirm it in his hip. I wouldn't be surprised if my hubby has it too. I don't think FM is contagious though. If it is what would my cat do if she got it, no more jumping on the furniture. hee-hee....

There is someone out there. His fibro really bothers him alot. Pain and IBS. I have noticed some people have listed thrie afflictions. I will do the same, altho don't know how to do it at the bottom. Fibro, ofcourse, IBS, both const. and the stinging kind, irregular heartbeat, HBP, lots of sleep problems even with sleep meds, depression, on meds but seems uncontrolled, migraines, thats all I can think of right now. Know there is more, just can't run thru the meds in my head right at the moment. I so appreciate the answers from you guys, was eginning to wonder if anyone was out there, I'm a night person, usually not up till 9-10 and up till 12 or 1. Thank you Lucy smhair

I'm always online researching fibro, and I just read an article yesterday that touched on this topic:

Lucy, there was someone on here that her husband had fibro too but I can't remember her name, surprised??? We still know so little about fibro and we do know it is genetic so who knows if it is contagious. That has to be rough with both of you having it. My hubby has been my rock and he hasn't felt that great in the past few months and it's been harder with both of us not feeling well. Good luck to both of you.

I know it's a bit late since you are going to see doctor tomorrow. Wanted to tell you a good way to list all symptoms, because sometimes you can't remember all of them. I searched Fibro online and read all the symptom lists at different sites. I found alot of symptoms that I had not written down, so it is a good way to find all of the symptoms you are experiencing for your list!

Sorry, I didn't think about this the other day. Good luck at your appointment tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.
