I found an interesting article on the history of Fibromyalgia, about the evidence of it's existence in the early 1900's and even in the biblical times!!!! It had a few things about Florence Nightingale, the English Army nurse during the Crimean War who died in 1910, who was thought now to have suffered from Fibromyalgia. For some reason, I could not paste the address to the article here, it would not work.. I would still like to share the one part with you...
This particular part is from the Bible.. a man describing his day-to-day pain which is thought now to also have been Fibromyalgia.. his words hit me like a ton of bricks!!!! This is what he wrote:
“I, too, have been assigned months of futility, long and weary nights of misery. When I go to bed, I think, 'When will it be morning?' But the night drags on, and I toss till dawn…And now my heart is broken. Depression haunts my days. My weary nights are filled with pain as though something were relentlessly gnawing at my bones.”
Almost brought tears to my eyes
