As many of you know Ken had the pacemaker put in a couple of months ago and he didn't feel like everyone told him he would feel afterwards. He had an app with cardio the 23rd of Dec which the doc office cancelled and rescheduled for the 20th of this month. I have tried and tried to get him to call the doc office and tell them he is having problems and he needed to see the doc but he wouldn't do it. This afternoon the pressure in his chest he has been having got worse and then he called the doc office. They had him to go to the ER in our little town and said they would send the info to the heart institute 45 min away. They gave him nitro two times, did a EKG and x-ray to make sure the leads were in the right place on the pacemaker. They didn't like what the seen so they transported him by ambulance to the heart institute. They got him there about 6 and I got there about 7 since I had to make a mad dash home to get things and make sure Krissy was secure. They said they were going to do a cath tonight on him. We waited for four hours  and the doc came in and went over everything and decided that they could wait til tomorrow afternoon to do the cath unless of course something happens and they feel he needs it quickly.

 

I was so tired driving home I was following youngest son but there were times when I wasn't sure my eyes were going to stay open. I have never been so happy to see the exit I take to get home. So I'm sitting here at 12:30 writing this and you all know I'm never on here this late. I feel the xanax kicking in and Krissy decided she was going back to bed so I hope I don't hear anything from Ken or the hos tonight cause it will mean everything is the same and he hasn't gotten worse.

 

Say a little prayer for him please that they can go in and maybe put a shunt in and that will be all that needs to be done.

Omg Marlee I am so sorry this is happening to you and Ken. I will surely keep both of you in my prayers tonight. God has worked his magic so far for Ken and I know he would not want to see the 2 of you parted. Please try to take care of yourself right now too. Ken needs you healthy as much as you want him healthy. Take care my dear and know you are cared about and prayed for.

Thank you for the blessing that Marlee is to so many of us. Lord, I pray that you would send your angels to watch over Ken tonight... keep him stable and in Your loving care. Sending Your angels to watch over Marlee also and give her a peaceful sleep. Let her know you are near. Take care of my friend, Marlee... take care of her husband. I trust You. Amen.

Marlee, I am so sorry that Ken is ill again (still). I read your post and felt led to pray for you both. Praying for your husband to have the presence of mind to listen to his drs., for the drs to have divine wisdom in how to treat Ken and for the Lord to bless you with peaceful sleep and that you awake with new vigor and that Ken is healed speedily and without any further complications.

Thanks everyone!!! I just talked to Ken and nothing has changed so I guess that is good. We neither got much sleep last night. It's a good thing Ken's hearing is not that great cause the guy in the other bed was snoring really bad before I left.

 

He has not felt well for quite some time and the pacemaker didn't do the trick they thought it would so hopefully they will fix what needs to be fixed today and I will have a new and improved husband. He has not had a heart attack so they caught this in time.

 

I do know one thing they do not make hospitals fibro friendly. I laid in bed with Ken last night cause they didn't have a chair in the room that wasn't a torture device. A nurse came in and said, "you can't spend the night here", duh.

 

He was going to try and sleep this morning so I won't go for awhile.

I am very happy to hear that things did not get worse during the night.  He is in a very good place, I'm sure they will take good care of him.

Marlee: I'll add my prayers to the list! Just went through something similar with my husband three days before Christmas. Main coronary artery blockage - almost 100% - second time in 5 years even with a stent in! They put in another stent right next to the first. Hubby felt very good afterwards. I am praying Ken will too, if that's what they decide to do. Getting rest in the hospital can be tricky. Is there a nice family waiting room there? Ours had chairs that pulled out into beds and we were able to get pillows and blankets from the nurses. Also, there may be a free house for overnight stays close to the hospital: maybe you could get a nap in at one of these places...

Marlee, I just read your post and yes you and Ken are in our prayers.  I'm so glad he made it well through the night.

 

Once again I can identify with you.  Larry had triple by-pass two years ago and I never was so frightened in all my life. 

 

When they took him on the elevator to surgery and I said good-bye to him, not knowing if I would ever see him alive again, I thought I would die.

 

It's so hard when you love someone so much and they are so much a part of you. 

 

Hang in there and God will give you strength to see you through these troubled times.

 

My prayer is that what ever has been causing Ken problems with his pace maker will be discovered and he will be better than new.

 

In meantime take care of yourself too.  You've got to be strong for Ken so try to eat and keep your strength up. 

 

God is good and I've got enough faith to know that he will take care of you and Ken throughout this whole ordeal.

 

I have grown to love you even though I have never laid eyes on you.  I hate having fibro, but I'm so glad it has led me to this site and all my dear friends.

Even though I'm not always the praying sort of person, I will absolutely keep praying for Ken, you, Krissy-and, well, your whole family! :-)    If there is anything I could do to help, please let me know.  If I lived a little closer, I would definitely keep an eye on Krissy for you. wink    BTW-sometimes it's our pets that give us the stress relief we so desperately need.

 

Seriously, you have always been there for me during my hard times.  You are a true friend, and I would do anything I could for you.  I will get my grandmother to add Ken to the prayer list at her church.  Also, please remember that you have a lot of people from your fibro family on your side.  We love you! :-)

 

Oh, please be careful driving when you are so tired.  I've always used the trick of shutting off the heat in the car (or even rolling down a window).  That cold winter air will keep you awake everytime. yeah   And, you should report that nurse for being so rude.  As much as I complain about my mom, she is a darn good, compassionate nurse.  You need a nurse that cares about what she does, not just her next paycheck! mad

I am so sorry! I haven't been feeling well, so haven't been online. I was glad to read that there were no changes thru the night. I'll keep you both in my prayers!! It is good that they caught this now and I pray they'll go in and fix what needs fixed and everything will be o.k. Like you said, maybe he'll end up feeling better than he has in a long time!

Remember to take a pillow or something to the hospital, so you can sit comfortably. Take care of yourself! With all of the running and no sleep, you don't want to end up in a flare! Remember that you have many people praying for you guys, stay strong and keep hope!

Honest to God I don't know what I would do without my fibro family, you will all be there with me today. They have it scheduled for 2:00 but.............we know how that goes at these places. They were two hours late in putting the pacemaker in.

 

I must say that it's time like this when this DD really makes me mad. I need energy and strength today and I don't feel any.

(((marlee))) God love ya....I was up til 3 am puttering around in here(and youtube) I shoulda paid better attention.We live in a small town and our cardiac hospital is 45 min away to...so if my heart starts acting up,we have a long ride over a mountain to get there.(I don't do helicopters)Hopefully its something simple they can correct quickly.I hate heart caths...thats what started my fibro.Though there's not a doc that will conferm it.Hang in there,kid....and I hope no fog sets in....hospitals are a dreadful place to get confused and lost.....wander into the wrong room and come out with a lobotomy or worse a colonoscapy.....

Oh, Marlee, this is the first I've been on the forum since early evening last night.  You and Ken are definitely in my prayers.  He's in a good place and they will take good care of him.  I know it's frightening but this type of surgery is done day after day...especially in a heart hospital.  So, I'm sure Ken will be fine and start feeling healthy again. 

 

You take care of yourself.  You and Ken do not need a flare from you right now!  Relax and trust in Him.  He is the one in control.

Awww Marlee, I just read this now (2:59), our hydro was off this AM...and when I did get on, just stayed long enough to post the Saturday Koffee Klatch.  I will keep you and Ken in my prayers, I am so sorry, I honestly thought things were going very well with him.

When God brings us to it, He will guide us through it.  I honestly believe in that, and the power of prayer hon.
