Yes, I should have said something. I kept thinking, "don't you remember I told you two days ago that I have fibro?" There were other attorneys all around who do not know me and they were all racing around speed walking. Then she took the stairs and I am not familiar with the courthouse, so I followed her through the door. All the time I was thinking, I am going to pay for this later. And I did. I was miserable all afternoon and then in a flare all day yesterday. That afternoon, I would have used my cane to walk about the office, but it was out in my car and I didn't have the strength to go get it! I was finally able to walk about normal speed this morning even though my feet hurt seconds after I put my shoes on.
I was reading last night about qualifications of disability. It is so confusing. I was trying to figure out what kinds of accommodatins here at school/work would be good for me. Plus, I just want to qualify for a placard for times when I need one. Disability must significantly impair one or more major areas of life (not saying it quite right). Walking qualifies as one of those areas, but I couldn't figure out if my difficulities qualify for significant impairment. The dang code thingy is extremely long and full of examples: person A qualifies for disability because . . . person B qualifies because his problems are slightly different . . . I read the application for the placard and I think I fit area 5 or 6 (if I remember them right - one of the areas might fit me anyway).
I don't know how anyone figures it out. If walking about put me in such a flare, I must do something and explain to my supervisor again. Ok, gotta go grade papers.
