So . . . I told ya I'd let ya know how the fibro class went today. Today was the first one and there are 7 more. The accupuncturist spoke for 1/2 the class and the pt taught the other half. The accupuncturist will only speak once. The thing I remember most is the "foods for medicine" piece. It was kind of confusing, but basically, the idea is if you need something in your body, you eat a certain kind of food. But insted of choosing foods by the specific vitamins in the food, you go by the taste: bitter, salty, sweet, pungent (sp), sour, and bland. He also talked about
getting the nutrients into the body better: juicing or slow clooking vegies. One lady wondered if there was a recipe to make bitter herbs like dandelion taste better and the accupuncturist called her immature and whiny! What is interesting about
that is I saw this guy in the waitng room while visiting with the ladies from the class. They all said, accupuncture helps. There are people here that are good at it, but not him! They pointed right at the guy. then he came and taught the class. No problem. I am all for eating a wide variety of healthy food, so it can't hurt.
The pt asked what we wanted from the class. I figured if we are being ideal, then why not, so I said I wanted to cook and walk like I did before, go off meds and stop being in denial! Tall order for 8 weeks.
Now I am gonna go pick some dandelion and chew on it! jk.
