Hi All,

I've been taking Malic Acid/Mag combination mentioned in Fibro 101. It definately helps.

Has anyone taken D-Ribose? Was it helpful? or a waste of time and money? I'm searching for anything that with help with my energy level and pain.

I tried D-Ribose for about a week. I didn't notice much of a difference so I decided to stop taking it due to the high cost. If it really helped right away, I would have figured out a way to get the money.

If you do decide to try it, keep us posted. I may try it again in the fall (if I still have a job!)

I've been wondering about this too.  I know Dr. Oz (from Oprah) and Dr. Joseph Tietelbaum (sp?) have mentioned it, but I've gotten so burned out trying all of the latest/greatest treatments that I haven't tried it.

 

If anyone else has tried it, please keep us posted.

I think I might invest in a months supply and see if it helps any.

Malic Acid/ Advil during the day and Ultram/Lidoderm patches at night

helps some with the pain. But no matter what I do, my energy level is zippo. It's all I can do to get out of bed, change clothes and sit on the couch.

I force myself to walk the dogs several times a day to keep up some activity. But I'm just exhausted! There's got to be something to help......maybe?.....please......hopefully

I've been on it for about a year and I think it helps. I know that doesn't help you much. I still have a lot of fatigue. I still cannot exercise the way I use to. I was hoping it would really give me back my energy but as I said, I still don't have as much energy as I would like. I'm actually afraid to not take it. I know how that sounds, dumb. I will probably stop it for a while and see if it makes any difference. I have, however, heard great things about it helping our cardiovascular system.

You can get it at health food stores and online. It is expensive and you need to use a lot. Based on the dosage and online price, I would have been spending about $20.00/week on it. I can only afford to spend that much on something that would be really making a huge difference.

If you do decide to use it, look up the recommended dosage for fibro, the recommended dosage varies based on what you are treating. It is supposed to be very good for the heart.

I used the powdered form that you add to liquid. Mine had a pleasant sweet taste.

I've been buying it online, Corvalen D-Ribose. The container lasts about a month and costs about $35.00. Through research, I have found that the Corvalen brand is the purist powder form. You just add it twice a day to a liquid, or yogurt. First time taking it, you take it 3x a day, for two weeks, I believe, then 2X a day from then on.

I ordered a months supply today. I know what you mean about being afraid to stop it. Isn't it the truth, though? If it is helping at all you don't want to stir things up by quitting.

Dagger, I looked up the dosage for fibro, gosh it seems to take a lot!!

I'm going to give it a try, I'm grasping at most everything at this point.
