New and introducing myself

Hello, I'm Lola, I'm 27 y/o and I was diagonosed with fibromyalgia last yr. Since then, my life has been a blur of dr appts. I told my dr the day I was diagnosed that I couldn't be sick, I have a 4 y/o son and a disabled husband, I can't be sick, I'm the one that does everything, and at the time I was a full time college student, made the National Dean's list my first yr, I worked.
And now, there are days I'm lucky to be able to get out of bed and stay out of bed. Right now I'm doing everything I can do get the most relief, but nothing helps. Walking, yoga, meds, diet, herbal... I feel like a mutant guinea pig. LOL
My dr and pharmasist have taken me on as a 'pet project' and suggested herbal suppliments in conjunction with Flexeril, Celexa, and despiramine. Along with the daily maximum doses of Advil and Tylenol.
Unfortunately though, I'm fighting to get disability and what I hear isn't good. Because of my age, and having been put on medical leave from every job I have every had due to some medical meltdown, I don't have the required 'quarters' to qualify.
My family tries to be understanding, but I can tell at times they get so frustrated. I often hear "Lola, why aren't the dishes done?" Ummm because today is a bad day and my back won't quit screaming and btw, don't mind the obscenities. I love you too dear. LOL I've found from ppl who've been generally healthy don't know how to comprehend that yes, I was in pain yesterday, I'm in pain now and will probably be in pain tomorrow. They have a hard time understanding that this invisable illness can cause so much.
Forgive me if I run on, but this is the first time in over a yr that I have been able to talk to someone going through it, not just watching from the sidelines.
Aside from having FM, I have heart problems, arthritis, and costochonidritis.

I too wanted to welcome you to the fibro forum. I think that you will be able to learn a lot here and feel the compassion of some wonderful people who know what you are going through.

Feel free to post anytime, vent, or just say hello. We try to keep things light around here and get a laugh now and then.

Welcome to the family! I'm sorry you're battling this dd, but I am so glad you've found us. This is a wonderful place to come and vent/moan/ask questions. The people here are so welcoming and gracious and kind-and funny! Please feel free to come here and let it all out whenever you need to!

Also, I second what Patti said-definitely check out the Fibro 101 thread. There is a lot of great information there...

It sure does sound like you have a lot on your plate, with your child and your disabled husband AND school! (KUDOS to you for getting on the Dean's List!!) I am 36 and have had fibro for about 8 years now, and I too have gone through the struggle of trying to get people around you to understand. Again, please always feel free to come here and vent about these things-well all definitely understand!
