Hi, To Everyone let me first say this is a great group and I hope that maybe I can find some answers since my Dr's havent given me any.
I am 43 and for the last year I would have this pain in middle of back right between shoulder blades I couldn't hardly breath at times it hurt so bad.  Than about 6 months ago I had extreme vertigo unbalanced, light headed ,and my memory is terrible,when I am speaking I lose my words,  MY leg pain has been terrible I have also started to have a drag to my right leg at times they feel very heavy.  I also have felt like my legs were going to give out on me. Now I am having pain in my arms.  I also have had what some of you describe as needles or bee stings but sometimes they are very deep stings. I also am very wobbly seem like I cant stand still well I try to but I wobble. Some times it is like I feel intoxicated. I have had a MRI of Brain and spine and DR. said they are clear except Neurologist said that the spine MRI showed deterioration of area where spine goes into my head I asked him to explain but didnt really get a answer. Thought it was lymes put me on antibiotics didnt help. 
MY question I know the pain is a big sign but did any of you feel like you were unbalanced, dizzy?

Hi Mc and welcome to the forum.  I have vertigo quite often but I was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease many years ago.  But...read an article on Fibro a friend sent yesterday and it says that 2/3's of fibro sufferers experience dizziness/lightheadeness/ vertigo.  There is a big difference between dizziness and vertigo.  Vertigo is a whirling/spinning sensation. It is usually caused by a build up of fluid in the ear.  I had it all day long yesterday and had to sit still with my eyes focused on one thing and had to be careful to not change position.  Even when the attack is over, I am off balance and wobbly.

Many of your other symptoms are indicative of fibro also and I hope you get a doctor that will diagnose you accurately and suggest some kind of treatment.  I am sure they will want to rule out everything else first.

Hi, MC, and welcome!  Yes, Donna is correct.  Lightheadedness is a symptom of fibro but also a symptom of other illnesses.  I will get a "wave" of lightheadedness out of nowhere...to the point I need to sit down or I think I'll faint.  It goes away just as fast.  It looks like you have been having tests run to rule out other illnesses.  Many use a rheumatologist for their fibro.  I use a board certified Internist.

 

Be sure to check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to good info about fibromyalgia, including a list of symptoms.  You just might "see" yourself there.

 

Keep searching for answers.  You do need a diagnosis but you also need a doctor that believes in fibromyalgia and will help you.  That is very important. 

 

I am so glad you found us, though, and joined in.  We have a good group of people that love to help one another and, as a bonus, we really do care about each other too.  So, read Fibro 101, back posts, and ask questions.  We are here to help you.  Hope to hear more from you soon.

My DR called it vertigo the room doesnt spin I just feel like I am intoxicated even though I dont drink this is the best was to describe it.  I have a hard time balancing when this is happening.  I seem to be worst when I am having the big "D" diarrhea.  But my leg and other symptoms ease up but are really never gone. 
One DR said when I asked about different things it might be like Lymes, Fibro, MS his statement is OH you are one of them I asked what one of them who look up things and come to a dr. I do not have much faith in DR. specailly in our area I even went to Barnes and the ER Neurologist when I told him the other DR put me on antibiotics in case it was lymes said that is funny I asked why he said because we dont have lymes in this area which is not true I asked him do we have ticks than it is a good chance we have lymes!!!

I feel like times Dr. think we are all crazy and brush off stuff

One more question for you girls this has happened a couple of times once for about 30 min.  when I was in DR office and a second time for about 3 hours I felf very light headed and than it felt like my body was racing up and down from head to feet almost like ants crawling not on the out side of skin but under inside like I said all over top to bottom it was very scary and the DR blew it off.
Said my test came back and I had high cholesterol which now I have found that wasnt a good test because I didnt fast before test. 
Thanks so much for talking with me I do have a apt. at Barnes with a Neurologist but it isnt till June I am looking for a different one that I can get into sooner my life has been turned upside down and want to get to the cause of it all. There are days when all I can do is sleep and have to depend on family to take care of my kids because I dont feel like I can drive because of the pain and light headed.
Did you all see a Neurologist?
