lyrica

I have had 2 lumbar fusions within 3 months. The groin, leg, theigh,foot pain was so unbearable that they put me on lyrica for the nerve pain. It has worked. I am currently on 100mg. three times a day. The med starts wearing off 6-7 hours. I also take percocets every 5-7 hours for backup. Has anyone taken the meds like every 5-6 hours apart or does mg need to be raised. I read where the norm in like 2-3x a day. But for me, it wears off kinds fast. My short term memory is extremely terrible. Anyone else relate to this post? Thanks.

I have been trying to work with Lyrica on and off for about a year. Initially started at 50mg 2per day and worked up to 100mg twice a day. I stopped after a month primarily because of memory problems and more "fog" than usual. Started again at the low dose at night only. Doing this on and off, since after 3-4 days I cannot take the memory problems and mind fog any more, and after a few days it seems it does not work as well. And yes...I tend to sleep right through my alarm in the morning if I take Lyrica too close to bed time.
I find it does help with the nerve pain which is why I keep trying it. I already take tramadol (6 per day, doc just increased me to 8 per day). Going to try Lyrica 50mg in the AM and 100mg around dinner to see if I can tolerate it and NOT sleep through the alarm. I am hoping the memory issues will improve, because Lyrica also helps my depression and I cannot take SSRIs or SNRIs.
