sad Wow, i was up all night just wide awake.. I've been having trouble w/ my ears ringing ,hot flashes and other stuff. Going for an MRI of my head tonite at 5:30. I really feel like I'm going nuts ... I devleoped an unexplained foot drop in January which remarkably is 90% gone,but have been struggling w/ these other issues. Please wish me luck,my anxiety is through the roof... cry

Good luck Spicey,

I am getting a colonoscopy on Friday and got that on my mind so I am not sleeping all that great either. I hope that everything goes well for you with your mri.

I'm not having an MRI nor a colonoscopy but I can't sleep either!  Maybe it has to do with spring, the positioning of the sun, the pull of gravity.  I never sleep really well, but I'm REALLY not sleeping now.  I'm up about every hour. 

 

I hope you two will sleep well once your testing is over.  I'm sure you two will get a clean bill of health.  By the way, Spicey, I have ringing in my ears and I get hot flashes occasionally, too.  I never had the foot drop thing but I've had plenty of weird things that went away...totally unexplained.  That has happened many times since I was diagnosed with fibro.

I wouldnt be able to sleep if I was going in for a colonscopy, I had one done 2 years ago and everyone told me it was a very painless procedure, well it was extremely painful cause they decided to not sedate me, I screamed the whole time begging the doctor to stop but he woudnt. Since then I have swear to myself that I will never ever have another one again as long as I live, I dont care how much they say I would need one, it isnt happening. It took me 3 months for my body to heal after they did it. Even the meds for the prep before made me vomit for a week straight, and since the GI doctor that did it was 2 and half hours away, we where an hour late cause my aunt had to keep stopping every 5 minutes for me to vomit, I remember once we got to the hospital I ran into the bathroom vomiting and I colapsed on the dirty bathroom floor. Never ever again!!

I wouldn't let any doctor do a colonoscopy.  I had great doctors and had a great experience having one.

 

I only had one colonoscopy because I had my colon removed shortly after.  It was the colonoscopy that proved that I had Crohn's disease.  They thought for 11 years that I had ulcerative colitis.  I hated the prep for the exam but I loved the exam!  LOL  They didn't knock me out.  They just gave me enough Demerol, I think that's what they used, to make me not care what was happening.  I totally lost all inhibitions and was totally relaxed.  The doctor doing the colonoscopy (this was at the Cleveland Clinic) was young and piped 60's rock and roll music in the room.  They had a TV that showed what the inside of my colon looked like as the scope moved through.  The scope has a little camera on the end so the doctors can see what's up.  I even watched while they took the biopsy.  I only felt a little tug in my colon.  I know I'm weird, but I thought that was about the coolest test I ever had!  LOL 

 

I wanted to post this because colonoscopies are very important and can save your life.  Just make sure you have good doctors that do this test all of the time.  I really didn't feel much of anything when I had mine done.

Hi Spicey- I don't think I have welcomed you so welcome!

Not a big fan of MRI's but I know they have their place. When the fibro first hit me a year ago I was having all these strange symptoms. A migraine (never have had one before), slight drooping on the right side of the face, numbness around my mouth, tongue and lips, muscle twitching, and numbness in my feet. My MRI was normal. NORMAL???? I thought for sure they would find something "big" wrong with me.

I get ankle and foot pain and it can vary everyday. It can be in one foot, it can be in both feet. One ankle will feel like I twisted it and I didn't. Jeesh! Hope all went well, and I know it takes a few days to a week to get the results. I know I did not sleep well at all during that period worrying about everything. Do the best you can to get some rest in during the day if you can.

Karen- Good luck with the colonoscopy. I am 52 and I know I will be having one within the year.
