Just wondering...do any of you feel more fatigued and without ambition on dreary, gray days? I have just started noticing this in myself. Never made a connection to it before, but I definitely see a difference. On gloomy days (like today) I yawn a lot more and feel absolutely no drive to do anything. When the sun comes out, I wouldn't say I have the pep of a teenager, but I certainly have more get up and go.
I have also noticed that there is a difference in how I feel on days when it is not sunny, but also not dark and gloomy. Do you know what I mean? Like-some days you can't see the sun, but the sky is still fairly light. I do alright on those days, too, but on days like today when the sun isn't out and the sky is also really dark, I don't feel like doing a darn thing.
I wonder if this could be related to the Fibro/vitamin D deficiency? Maybe a bit of sun is needed to get us going? Or..maybe this is all in my head??
What do you guys think?

I wonder if it has something to do with the barometric pressure? I know a lot of us feel worse when the pressure is low or constantly changes in a short period of time. Or it could just be the whole mind/body connection. Sunny days make us feel mentally better, maybe. Just my 2 cents.

Hey Danielle!!
It sure is a crummy day in our part of the world, today, huh?
Yess yesss yessss... lousy weather just makes me feel lousy. I see that everyone that voted said the same thing.
I do think that a lot of folks with or with out fibro feel like this. I hear some many people say, " good day to stay home and snuggle up with a good book" .. LOL ANYDAY is a good day to stay home and snuggle up with a book.
Hopefully when the crappy weather passes we'll all feel better.
*** sending you sunshine*** ooops, I'd have to HAVE sunshine to send it to ya!!!

Since I have been on the vit D I don't notice that so much like I was. It was suppose to be raining today but it is sunny and almost 80 and I feel like I'm in a full blown flare. I noticed the pressure is down so I have no idea what is going on in my body and whether the weather has anything to do with it or not.
I do suggest that everyone get their vit D checked.
luv and hugs

Danielle, you could be suffering from light deprivation. I know I did. I lived in Cleveland and the average number of days in January that the sun shone was 3. It was overcast sooo much. But, when I moved to Florida I did feel a lot better, had more energy, and was just happier. I didn't realize I was suffering from light deprivation.
I remember when I lived in Cleveland and we would have a sunny day, I'd open the windows and, if it wasn't cold out, I would be outside...like it was the first day of spring. It was wonderful. Then the next day would be dreary again. I'm glad I moved!

Hate gloomy days... Also going to pursue the Vitamin D idea. See my doctor soon, thank goodness. Hadn't considered the light deprivation since I live in the midwest, but has occurred to me that we've had more than our usual share of gray days in the past few weeks and months. Sounds logical that could also be affecting me. Thanks for bringing this up!

If my Fibro doesn't bother me than my osteoarthritis will. I'm so addicted to sunshine, I have to take breaks from my desk at work to go outside and bake for a few minutes. Good thing I live in FL where the sun-less days are few.
