Hi, Sue! Sure haven't seen you in a while! Glad you are back. I do know about being lonely but I keep myself as busy as I can. Of course the forum is wonderful because I have met so many great people here and we can relate to one another.
It is so important to have friends. Do you belong to a church? The churches I have gone to have been very active, wonderful potlucks, and great people to talk to. If anyone didn't drive, someone would pick them up to get them to church. So, this could be an option for you and you could start making friendships there. I have made some great friends from church and we get together for lunch or just good conversation.
You probably need to get out of the house some, too. I know you said you don't have a car but many communities have jitney buses that will pick you up and take you where you need to go. Or, is there public transportation close by? I live too far away from town so I'm not close to public transportation but I hope you are close to it.
Try taking up some hobbies, too. You can't rely on people to fill your life because everyone is busy. I love to do genealogy and that helps. I also do some gardening...nothing heavy. I bought a book off the Internet all about bonsai and I'm going to give that a try, too. I hate to sew but, if you like that, you could sew or knit. You could even donate what you make and that would not only make you happy but someone else, too! So think about what you enjoy doing or what you always wanted to learn. This is a great opportunity to expand your life.
Meanwhile, we are always here for you. You have given good support in the past and that is greatly appreciated, too. So, try to get yourself busy and start enjoying your life. I know you can do it.
