Hi 'Bones and welcome to the forum! Most of my pains run from one part of my body to the next just to keep me on my toes, BUT the one constant I have is the chronic pain and burning in my back. Standing, sitting, leaning, reaching, breathing, thinking all seem to make it burn. I try to stretch as often as I can, I also have to lay flat on a heating pad or take a hot shower. I have pain patches, but I don't find them to be too helpful. My husband will massage my back when I ask him to, but sometimes just touching my back w/ his hands can send me out of my mind.
I prefer heat on my body, the thought of something cold sends me into shivers. One thing you have to remember is, even tho we all have FMS, we all have different things that work for us. Your best bet is try several ideas and see what works best for you. Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
God bless. Alice.
