Am I the only one who does this?

Go into a shopping mall or grocery store do your shopping come out and can't remember where your car is? This happens all the time its frustrating but what are you going to do???

I do that all the time even if I'm just in the store for 5 min LOL Thought about getting an antana bobber thing or a bumper sticker, something to help my white mini van stand out LOL

I do the same thing. I have taken to writing down the general directions back to my car in a little note book that I care with me in my purse. And I make sure that I go out the same doors that I came in. That way I am at least in the general area my car is. It's easier for me to find my husbands truck cuz he has a big blue fireman's light on the top of his truck.....LOL!!! Needless to say, I've been driving the truck more than my car lately!!!   smilewinkgrin yeah

What I do is make sure I park Close to the same spot. So I go in the same door.

My dh bought me one of those little hand held recorders.  They are so handy.  First of all I use it through the week to record my grocrey list.  Then when I go to the mall I automatically record what isle I'm parked in.  When I come out of the mall I just flick it on for a second and I know where I'm parked.

 

They are available at Walmart.  I get lots of use out of mine.

I make an effort to remember where I park because it's frightening to come out and think  your car has been stolen!  turn

I always try to park in the same area. I've actually gone home instead of into the store because all the spaces in my area were filled. When my husband is driving and parks somewhere else, I get all jumpy, it just feels wrong.

I want to have one of those shrink wrap labels (like on buses) with my name all over put on my car so I could easily find it. It would be like a tattooed car and I probably wouldn't lose it so often.

Many years ago I  went to a large multi-level mall.  When I went to go home I couldn't even remember what level I parked on smhair  .  I finally found my car and have never lost it since.  I try to park in the same spot as often as possible.  When I get out of the car and lock it I make a point to stop and look to see what I am near and if the aisle has a number.  I use to write this down but now I make myself memorize it.  Also look towards the store and line yourself up with some object ( lettering on the store's name. fire exit, fire hydrant, large blooming tree, bench, etc.  You will see something that is permanent on or near the store.  I make a point to notice this too and I say it to myself.  I always tell myself to be aware.  This helps me.  It's funny, if I am with my husband I don't pay attention and I have no idea where the car is when we come out of the store. tongue

Usually, I park in the same general area whenever I go to a store. That way, I can remember at least the general area of where I have parked. But, sometimes, I do forget where I have parked. Sometimes, I will go to the store and walk aimlessly around until I can remember what it was I went to the store for in the first place. Today, I went to the doctor, and, usually, whenever I go to the doctor, I bring a book to read while I am waiting because I generally don't like the magazines there, but I forgot my book today. I was over half way there when I realized that the one thing I forgot was my book. LOL. Fibro fog hits me, most annoyingly, when I am in the middle of a sentence. I will be talking to someone and then foget what I was saying, right in the middle of the sentence. That is what gets me most. LOL

Last year I needed to start parking in the same place. I worked at an airport which had a huge, huge employee parking area- you had to take a little bus to be dropped off in front of your terminal and area. I had to make mnemonics to remember the lane I was in. For instance if I was in B1, I'd say to myself "Today be one lovely day!" or something like. My car is short and small, hidden between SUVs, so it's important for me to always know where it is.
