i Fibromites,
I am new to this site and this is my first post. Just a bit of information about me.
After taking prednisone on/off for about 3 years I developed Avascular Necrosis(dead bones). I had to have both of my hips replaced, one in 2005 the other in 2007. Needless to say my fibromyalgia has made it a slow recovery. I still use a cane today, and I am declared permanently disabled my my Orthepedic Surgeon.
I am on my third round of Botox injections, 13 shots to some of my triger points and both hips. At first I didn't think they worked, but after about 3 months when they have worn off, I really notice the difference. It takes the edge off but my pain does not totally go away. I still need oxycodone, vicodin, and flexeril if I want to do anything like grocery shopping or light gardening.
In addition I have an overactive thyroid, depression, anxiety, ulcerative colitis, etc... With all of this I have gained about 30 pounds and can't get rid of it due to all my medications. Anyway, to late to make a long story short, and what I was wondering is this:
Has anyone had similar problems with prednisone, and has anyone tried the botox injections?
Thanks for listening,
