Hi Eveyone,

I have had fibromyalgia for about 7 years, and for whatever reason about 5 years ago I was unpleasantly blessed with peripheral neuropathy in both my feet.  Also have lower lumbar spinal arthritis, and good ole arthur in most of the rest of my joints. Other problems too, but these are the most painful

Sorry, more about myself also.....I am 65, I love flowers, listening to it rain, so many things i love in life.  I always tell people to keep a sense of humor and never let the little kid in you go.  I know there are days when we all don't want or feel like laughing, but I still keep plodding along. 

I have a 97 year old mother that I have to help.  She no longer drives, her eyesight is also bad. Wow, she has been through a lot, but she is the one that told me years ago to never give up, no matter how bad it hurts.  So I have folowed her advice.  Although most of  the time I would rather lay in bed...LOL. 

Right now that's all I can think of, (spent the whole day with mom) But if you want to know anything else, feel free to ask.

Welcome Chickabee! I posted a reply to you and Sarah on her thread before I saw yours -- so glad you both found us. We are really a fibro FaMily who genuinely cares about one another! I think you will like it here and feel less alone.......
Bless you and your mother -- wow, she's a wonder! (I am 66, raising a grandchild who's now eleven.) Can't begin to imagine how you keep up with both of you -- at least my little one is young and healthy!

Hello Chickabee and welcome!!

I am so glad to get to know you and I'm glad you posted to our little forum. We are a tight group with always outstretched arms for one more. You will find the people here just lovely and so supportive.

I wish my mother were alive still. Alas, I lost her over 25 years ago. She would be 90 now if she were still alive. You are so blessed. Thanks for sharing about her and you. I hope to get to know you a lot better.

I am 57 have two granddaughters that I keep care of everyday while my daughter works. I have had fibro for over 28 years, live with husband of 40 years and have two big shepherds for sons. I have two daughters as well, ages 35 and 39.

Welcome to our little part of the world. Your attitude is great! It will be so nice to have you here. This is a wonderful group.

Cool about your mom. I have a 91yr old grandma in a nursing home. She keeps herself occupied there and enjoys life as best she can.

I've had fibro for about 2 1/2yrs. I have a great, understanding hubby and 2 married kids. Though I have it pretty tough with my ailments, I am very blessed in many other ways.

Look forward to more of your posts.

Hi, Chickabee, and welcome again!  I posted on Sarah's thread welcoming both of you.  I'm so glad you are here.  You will like it.  We all do understand and we all love to help one another and. lastly, we do have some fun on this forum.  A positive attitude and a good sense of humor go a long way with dealing with fibro!

Hello.. I have been on here before but it has been a very long time. I have not been diagnosed with Fibro yet but I am really thinking I may have it. I just hurt way too much everywhere, it would be easier for me to list the SPOTS I don't hurt. I have been on here reading and searching for answers. I am 56 yrs. old. Married to the same man for 30 yrs. He has terminal cancer and we have been fighting right along side of him for 3 yrs,. but he is not doing well at all. I also have a special needs daughter who keeps me going and going all the time. I am under severe stress. So much so that I am going to a Psychologist Monday to start getting some help because I feel like my life is falling apart. I fell 2x at work. I did blame alot of my pains on that. But these pains are all over the place. I have pain in my neck, shoulders, upper back, mid back lower back, feet.. I have IBS and Gerd. I am totally exhausted/drained all the time. I just had Bloodwork and it was good.. so what the heck is this? Do I have cancer somewhere? I have had bronchitis off and on since last October.. I get it every year but it usually goes away a lot quicker than it is this time. As you are reading,, I am a mess.. Thank you for listening and any help would be so appreciated!!

Hi Jojokdz and welcome back! Just a quick post for now -- BTW just because your bloodwork ( or x-rays or whatever else they do) is okay doesn't mean you don't have fibro! Usually everything else has to be ruled out, or close to it, before they will give you a definite fibro Dx. If you haven't read it yet, please go to the second thread at the top of this page, Fibromyalgia 101. It is very helpful and might give you a better idea about your condition. I can't even begin to imagine your stress level, and I'm so glad you are reaching out for emotional help. This forum is really so great for people who care and understand what you're dealing with. Please let us know how you are doing, and your hubby, too. I'm so sorry about his diagnosis........ Hang in there -- we really do care.....

Hi Chickabee and Jojokdz and welcome to the family. Wow to have a parent for so long must be wonderful. My dad died 36 yrs ago tomorrow and he would only be 92 if he was living. Jojokdz, I'm sorry about your husband having cancer. You have a lot on your plate and it takes it's toll on our bodies.

 

Your so right about the sense of humor Chickabee. My 32 yr old DIL also has fibro and we were laughing at ourselves and each other yesterday with all our weird feelings we get. Some of my toe joints have been sore, who gets sore toe joints besides fibromites???

 

We are always here for you.

I'd jsut like to thanks everyone who welcomed me so very much with open arms and gentle hugs. I am really glad I found this site where we can share our aches, pains, good moments (when we have them) share laughs when i probably say something totally backwards, or forget what my thought was whie typing it... confused   I do that  a lot.  I didnt go into a lot of detail about my others illnesses or meds i am on.  Didn't know if I should or not.  I have 2 adult "kids"  daugher is 41 and son is 35.  So does that make me the oldest one here now???  LOL.  Where I live, I am the oldest one.  I don't know very many ppl my own age. They all left town after high school.

Thanks for listening. You live with all these aches/pains.. its like a part of your everyday thing. And everyday, well like mostly everyday I have a new pain.. although they don't last long their there... its the other pains as I mentioned above, that I live with all day long. Some days its so hard to even walk. I am a bus attendant with handicapp kids.. I really have to struggle to get on and off the bus all day long. I have been to the DOCTORS/CHIROPRACTOR.. AND they say its muscles/joint pain. I had several surgeries too so I wonder too sometimes if I am suffering with scar tissue. Don't know much about that? I am going to see my Doctor soon, I am going to mention the Fibro to her Again.. they look at you like your nuts... but all fingers point to it as a possibility. Thanks for all your input!
