I just wanted to reply to the questions about savella. First of all I have had Fibromyalgia since my mid-twenties. Along with all-over muscle aches, I have severe migraines, brain fog/forgetfulness, IBS, extreme fatigue, muscel fatigue, feelings of being bruised all over my skin, vertigo and unexplained dizziness and lastly depression due to constant pain. I have been on cymbalta, topamax, lyrica, and many many other medications to try to control the pain and fatigue. In the past three years I have I've nearly went crazy with all the meds tried. I was told I have a low threshold for medications which was the reason why the side effects of any med was so severe. So after almost burning down my house due to my forgetfulness I finally gave up on all fibro meds and was just dealing pain and taking my meds for the migraines and IBS. It was a difficult path I chose and the constant pain took a toll on me. So, once again my doctor discussed taking medication and assured me that he would monitor me weekly if I chose to take it. The medication was Savella and after many talks with my husband we finally decided that I'd try medication one more time. It's been three months now and Savella gave me my life back. It is a slow dose uptake. The only side effects I encountered were slight constipation which was delt with by changing my diet slightly, I was a little more emotional then normal for the first month but it went away after about 5 weeks, and I feel full about a half an hour after I take it for about an hour ( I still feel that way ). I take it twice, once in the morning and once at night with 50 mg of tramodol with each dose. I still have painful days and weeks but not constant, usually at the end of the day and way less severe. My fagtigue only gets the best out of me once a week which results in a three hour nap. I'm alert and happy and feel like I can take on anything. Like I said, I do still have some bad days but my bad days now are like my good days were when I wasn't on any meds. The best thing is I haven't had any IBS and very few migraines since I started Savella. When I do get a migraine the migraine med works and I'm not debilitated all day long like I use to be. There is no next day migraine hangover which is incredible. Savella has changed my life and I look forward to telling others about it. I will still need to get the test for vitamin D deficiency as does anyone with Fibromyalgia. To many links to Vitamin D deficiency and Fibromyalgia are in the litature to ignore that posibility. Hope this helps someone out there.
