Sherrine, AustenFan, Statgeek, Donnaeil and Dagger: Thank you all so very much for you much needed and excellent advice.

Yesterday I went to the Police and filed a complaint against my ex, the Police said it was harassment but as he has not broken any laws yet all they can do is speak to him and warn him off.

He found out where we live by tricking a friend into thinking that he knew where we were, she, in all innocense said oh yes (name of road) is a lovely area, she did not tell him the number of my house, so his intention yesterday was to drive around until he saw my car.

I have informed my solicitor, who is going to write to write a warning letter to him.

I am now thinking it is time to write to his employers and inform them of what he is doing, he has a good career and woould be frightened of them finding out what he really is, so i'm going to write the letter today, wish me luck and watch this space!

This is good.  If you have a camera, start taking picures of his stalking.  The photos should show the date on them.   Also, keep a log of when you see him. 

 

Have you gotten a restraining order on him?  If you do that, then I think that when he is hanging around where you live will be illegal and they can arrest him.  The police in your area can give you the best advice as to what to do.  Explain WHY you are frightened and all that you have gone through to avoid him. 

 

If you have to move again, please don't tell a soul.  Your friend was foolish and has caused this problem.  You can get a post office box for mail so you can be in touch with friends and there is always the phone.   You can meet in public places, etc., until they catch your ex doing something illegal.

sorry to hear you are having troubles with your ex... I know i don't know the whole story but i have to agree with Sherrine, the Best thing to do is document everything.... Security cameras are great and you can have them linked in to your computer that way you can burn off copies to give police, also taking pictures with the date on them is also wonderful... you can get them pretty cheap. Not sure if it is available in your area.. but sometimes you can call the phone company and have only certain numbers allowed to call your number
