I tried Lyrica about a year ago. Started on the 75 mg and moved up to the 150mg 2xper day. I eventually quit because 1) it was not helping with pain and 2) I felt drunk, uncoordinated, dumb, couldn't speak or think properly, etc, etc. The only positive thing I got was it helped with anxiety. It did get me in trouble...I started being more assertive and telling people what I thought about things, and, well, like I said, it got me in trouble. My soon to be ex husband blames Lyrica for our break up, but that is just him not wanting to take responsibility. It wasn't because of Lyrica.
This is not a drug for everyone. I have heard it works great for some people. I think it really depends on how fibro is affecting your body. It was not designed for fibro, but as an anti-seizure med. When it was approved for fibro it was pushed in advertising like crazy and I had so many people who did not have fibro tell me I should try it, so eventually I did. These people thought it was a cure.
I was not told it would take 2 months to be effective, more like 2-4 weeks. Everyone is different. That is the most frequent thing I say about meds!
I hope it helps you.
