I know this is off topic but I am going to a Bob Dylan/Willie Nelson concert on the 19th.  Our seats are front row center.  Because of my Meniere's disease I am afraid of the booming bass and loudness. I am already 60% deaf and have had to learn to read lips.  Question...any of you know where I can buy a set of those ear thingys that look like head phones that I can use in conjunction with ear plugs?  I live in a small town and have checked out the local tractor store(to look for the head  phones people wear to block out the noise from the lawn mower) and believe it or not, they are done with lawn mower equipment already and have the snow blowers out.  I called Sears, which is about an hour away and they put me on hold twice while they checked and never came back to the phone.

BTW...the hubby and I did not order these tickets...we would have never gotten that close.  Friends did thinking they were doing us a favor and I appreciate the effort but I will lose the rest of my hearing.  We will be with ten other people and I am afraid I will have to go to the car.

Wow, i wonder if those will help me work during the day. I could block out every sound I do not wish to hear. Thanks for the idea Donna, even though this is not what you intended.

Oh, do not wear a white outfit to the concert. YOu might be mistaken for frosty the snowman when folks see you with the headphones.

Donna, as you know, I have Meniere's too, and concerts can be miserable!

 

There are also lots of ear protection choices in the Home and Garden Center at Amazon.com

Some of these are pretty reasonably priced.  Since you need them pretty quickly, I have a tip if you plan on ordering from Amazon.  They are offering a free trial of Amazon Prime which offers you two day shipping.  It is pretty pricey if you decide to keep it (the Amazon Prime Plan), but if you choose not to and cancel within the first month, you don't owe anything.

 

I used the free trial last month and didn't have any trouble canceling it after I decided not to keep it.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.  I appreciate it.  I have a friend who found a pair of head phones his gardener left behind and as stupid as I look, I will wear them.  Yes...Frosty the Snowman...that will be me.  But it's better than going deaf!  Plus I don't think I have to worry about understanding what Bob Dylan is singing...does he even have a single brain cell left?  The hubby loves him just the same.

Oh my gosh, you are so right; NOBODY can understand a word Bob Dylan says, not just those of us with hearing problems.  devil
