Has anyone noticed

Absolutely.  I had a shirt on the other day and kept smelling flowers wherever I went. The hubby didn't smell it.  It turns out it was from the fabric softener sheet I had put in the dryer.  I can smell, from inside my house, the gasoline my neighbor is pouring into his lawn mower.  We passed a truck that had blown a tire on the thru way last week and I smelled that burning rubber for a half hour after we had passed the truck.

I am forevr asking the hubby 'don't you smelll that?"  He never ever does.

I have the ant crawling on my legs also.  Have stripped my pants off between two school buses in a parking lot because I was sure bugs were all over me.

I haven't been able to use perfume in years. My sense of smell is so acute that I use laundry detergent and fabric softeners without perfumes and dyes. I also use apple cider vinager in my rinse cycle which takes out any remaining soap from the clothes and makes them look like new.

    My hearing is going too as I have an arthritis condition of the inner ear which leads to hearing loss. The bones fuse together.....fun, fun, fun. I live in the country and loud noises bug me . I don't know how people can live in a city with the constant overwhelming of the senses.

I love the smell though of bleach when I wash white clothes. If certain smells are far enough away i'm okay such as carcoal. I still love to a point wood burning.

And yes the noise, today I had to walk away and come into my bedroom which is conected to the livingroom to get away from one of the older children, luckly that was all I had today because noise was really getting to me. My son had burned me a Wiccan CD and I came in hear and just listened to it. It is very calming to me it reminds me more of Indain music than anything.

Sat. I am having a Parent's Appercation Day and am thinking that since I am stressing over it that I'm headed for a flare because I'm already getting pain coming from nowhere but attack most of my body alittle at one moment and then all at once. I told one of my daycare kids who is 10 that by Monday I may be using a cane, something I have not had to use as of yet but I know my body is already hurting.

Besides the ever-present pain and fatigue of this months-long flare, I am most disturbed by heightened senses. I cannot even walk through the fabric soap aisle because of the smells of bleach, fabric sheets, soap - I can even smell beauty products that are wrapped and sealed. (Of course, I can smell the candy aisle too!! I always walk thru the candy aisle if I have to go thru the cleaning aisle, as my little reward.) Just today I was asking a friend of mine who is sensitive to smell if she has noticed new/ recent bad smells on the garments while clothes shopping. I swear, the past few times I have been in a clothing store, all I smell are chemicals on the clothes to the point of nausea. Has manufacturing changed that greatly? I hear all kinds of stuff about toxic things in our lives we don't know about, but I can't recall smelling stuff like petroleum products on clothing before. When I worked at the airport I used to love the smell of jet fuel, for pete's sake. Now I can't even fill up my car without turning green.

And I yelled at my boyfriend just tonight for putting on aftershave after his shower. He says he forgets that I get migraines from his Axe, but I secretly think he keeps hoping I will "change back" even tho I tell him he smells like a stud without it. And noise? I used to go to concerts several times a week - loved the crowds, people-watching, all that. And now I can't even listen to a loud video on YouTube or I get heart palpitating anxiety and my fight-or-flight response is triggered. Happened not 20 minutes ago. On top of all that my skin has been extra creepy-crawly today.

I've only posted a couple of times-none since I got my official diagnosis this month.  So, hi, I'm Julie!  I come on just about every day though and read the posts.

I had to reply to this.  I'm like Marlee-some smells I really love, and others I can't stand.  But the absolute worst thing is when I give a man a hug and his cologne decides it wants to "stick" with me.  My husband's great uncle is one of the sweetest men on the planet, but this happens every time I hug him, and it's almost always at the beginning of some occasion where I'm stuck smelling it for a couple of hours.  I'm getting sick to my stomache just thinking about it!  It will happen will women's perfume sometimes, too. 

I'll start a thread some time soon and tell ya'll about myself.
