Yet another "DUH" moment in my life.

I got ready for bed last night and brushed my teeth and when I spit it was red, "oh my gosh where is all the blood coming from"??? Have my gums gotten so bad that they are all bleeding, is this coming up from my throat or something??? Then after almost going into a panic attack the one brain cell I have left kicked in and I realized it was the red frosting on my birthday cake that was causing it, DUH!!!

 

I actually ate a piece of cake without my digestive system revolting on me so I wasn't thinking about the color of the frosting.

Marlee, that happened to me.  A few weeks after my ostomy surgery, I had some red licorace.  When I used the bathroom, everything was brilliant red and I thought I was hemmoraging!  I DID go in a panic attack and called the surgeon.  He asked if I had anything with red food coloring in it and, boy, did I feel stupid.  blush

 

Even chocolate frosting can have some red food coloring in it.  So, don't panic like I did.  I'm soooo happy your brain cell was functioning last night.  devil

For years my mom refused to eat (red) beets because the "outcome" had scared her half to death once after her first bout with colon cancer.

Even worse....I used Close Up tooth  paste which is all red.  The first time I spit it out I about had a brain hemmorhage.  Now that's a Duh if I ever saw one!

Oh Sherrine that would have put me into a panic attack after having the colon removed. At least now when the frosting passes I will know what it is. I'm so glad I have grandchildren to lead me around soon. I will even loan you one Sherrine.

 

Donna, did the fact that you had put red on your toothbrush ring a bell???

 

Crazyoldcatlady Donna, that would have been scary too after having cancer. I love pickled beets, haven't had any for years.

I did the same thing after eating red velvet cake which we all know has tons of red food coloring in it.  But mine was from the other end, not when I brushed my teeth smhair    scared the crap out of me...literally!!!!!! devil
