Hi,
I have been following all the posts and ready to jump back in there again!
Today I went and saw my rheumy. He confirmed what I guess I already knew.
I have Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. My overlap is Scleroderma, Lupus and RA.
Scleroderma is my dominant disease in the overlap. My meds are staying the same
with the exception of my blood pressure medication Lisinopril is changed to dilatiazem,
which is a calcium channel blocker, which will help with the Raynauds. The Methotrexate
I take is an immunosuppressant that is supposed to slow down disease activity.
I had a skin biopsy August 2008 that had confirmed the scleroderma, and I
have noticable skin changes. My lupus is real simular to my Fibro but I can tell the
flares apart, because I generally get the rashes with the Lupus. I do not have the
typical malar rash across my cheeks. I get rashes on my chest and neck. I have a
erythma patch on my forehead, it looks like a bike tire patch, thank goodness I
wear bangs!
I do have some wonderful news to share. The Savella finally kicked in and have not
had the burning achiness for a week now. I am still very fatigued, but that will pass.
I am glad to be back posting. I don't know how many posts I will get in a day, it
is getting harder for me to type because of my arm.
Have a wonderful day
Robin
