 Last Thursday I had a MRI on my lower forearm and hand. My right arm is the one that has

the linear scleroderma and atrophy. On the top of my hand there is an abnormal area

about the size of a quarter. It looks like a flat stone under my skin, near my wrist.

My rheumy's nurse called yesterday and said my MRI results are in, and that an appt.

was made for me this coming Monday with a specialist who is a hand surgeon. All the nurse

knew was it had something to do with cartilage and tearing. I don't know if it is related

to my MCTD or not. Typing is a little challenging.  smhair

I am trying not to stress. I know I don't need a flare! Think I will go soak in a hot bath.

I am sorry to hear this.. one more thing hu  shocked .. and it makes it worse not knowing for sure whats going on .. the stress of this alone is not good.. nono

 

and then your Apt is not until Monday .. try not to stress about it ,,,,I know its hard. but as you know the stress hurts us.

Its never nice hearing you need to see another doctor, but please do try not to stress yourself. Will also keep you in my prayers.

This, obviously, is what is giving your hand, and maybe your arm, the problems.  A hand specialist could probably take care of that and your hand would be better.  It's good that you are being sent to a specialist.

When my daughter's face was bitten, she was sent to a dermatologist.  I'm so thankful for that because he was experienced in the area and took care of her beautifully.  This will probably happen with you, too, Robin!  I'll be praying for you.

**I'm editing this.  My daughter was sent to a plastic surgeon...not a dermatologist!  DUH!  Don't you love the fog???

Robin, Hopefully the specialist will be able to take care of this & your arm and hand problems will be so much better! I will keep you in my prayers for a quick and easy solution!

Thank you my fibro buddies for the encouraging words. I really do appreciate it.
I had a long soak in a hot bath and went for a walk with my neighbor. I am relaxed.

I do feel hopeful and anxious with meeting the specialist. It is a good thing! I am very lucky
my rheumy's office called the specialist after someone just called to cancel their appointment.
Otherwise I might have been waiting longer to see him. I am going to focus on the positive
and eliminate the stress.

Stress causes the blood flow to our muscles to slow down and makes are muscles tighten
and we hurt all the more....and that we do not need.
