Top of feet burning?

Hi!

My feet on bottom have burned,hurt for along time but now for the last 2 months my top of feet have been burning.  The Dr. ran some bllod test & said my Throid was ok, not Dietabic, B12, Magnesium & others ok.  Had Bone density done last week to see how my spine & hips are doing (had one done 2006) haven't heard from that yet.  Now she wants to send me to a Neurologist.  Have any of you had this happen?  I take Elival 10 mg at night, Paxil 25mg during day, have Acid reflux take 2 previcid 15mg morning & 15mg at night.  Thanks

Hi, Fall, and welcome!  I just answered a post like this this morning.  Here is what I told the other member.

 

The burning sounds almost like neuropathy.  Many diabetics get that.  Also, people that have had a herpes virus that causes shingles.  Actually this virus causes chicken pox, too, I believe.  I think doctors usually prescribe Neurontin for that.  Here is a link about Neurontin and it does describe neuropathy halfway down the article.  See if this sounds like you.

Be sure to check out the Fibro 101 thread.  It's on the first page of the forum.  It's usually at the very top of the forum and will be there shortly...I hope!  There is a lot of great info there that can help you a lot.

I see that you have been checked for diabetes.  I only get foot pain in the summer!  Odd, huh?  I know some have burning but I'm not sure if it's constant like yours seems to be.  I found this site this morning so perhaps that will help you.  I'm not a doctor but this might be worth checking out.  Can't hurt and might help!
