Hi everyone!

I haven't been here in awhile - I was sifting through my favorites on my computer, and saw this site, and remembered what a great place this was!  I haven't been online much the past year. Been really busy.

I just had a new baby in July (a little girl) - I have 4 kids now; 2 boys & 2 girls. They are all 10 and under. They keep me quite busy!! But I wouldn't have it any other way.

My Fibro seems to have worsened since the baby was born though. shakehead    I am currently taking Lyrica (this is my 4th time taking it - I am REALLY trying to see if it works, but I am so loopy just on 150 mg that I cannot go any higher with it, and frankly, I am ready to just quit it again. 

This past week, I started taking Savella. My Dr gave it to me weeks ago, but I was very hesitant to start it.  (I hate trying new meds).  So I finally got up the nerve and started the titration pack.  Honestly, I actually feel pretty good with it already (I hope it's not just wishful thinking).  Other than bouts of bad nausea and some sweating (which are known side effects) I haven't noticed much else. Although last night, I got really panicky, and I was shaking and felt like I wanted to just jump out of my skin. I am not sure if that was the Savella or what.

Is anyone currently taking Savella?  Or have you tried it?  I would appreciate any feedback on this med. I am really hoping this one works and I can finally try to lead a happier life.

Hi Loveangel and welcome back!!! Congrats on the new baby. I don't know how you young mothers do it with fibro. shakehead Okay I'm a lot older but it is all I can do to take care of two dogs. smilewinkgrin

HI!  Congratulations on your new baby.  That's really exciting.  But, I'm sorry you are having problems and are having to search for the right combination again.  But, I'm sure you will find it and start to feel better.  Try the malic acid/magnesium if you can.  That has helped me and helped my medication work better, too.

Marlee, I don't know how I do it either sometimes.  It is a lot of work. Just having 4 kids and working FT is hard enough, but having Fibro makes it even harder.  But I muddle through. I have good days and bad days.  Sometimes I feel it is affecting my relationship with my husband though, b/c I am not the perky happy person he married. But he is a great guy, and he tries to understand.  and he is a huge help with the kids. I don't know what I would do without him, really.  My oldest son is 10, and he has been a HUGE help as well.  He helps with the baby a LOT. Like when I am getting ready for work in the morning, and she wants a bottle, he feeds her so we are not late.  And he changes her diapers if I need him to.  He is wonderful.

Thanks Sherrine for the tip.  I have been taking magnesium along with Lysine and calcium (in addition to my other meds).  And the combo seems to be working. I am slowly upping the dose of Savella, and I feel pretty good on that. Other than the nausea I am having no other problems with that.

Hi loveangel, You sure are one busy lady, all those kids must keep you pretty busy. I spent
a week visiting with my daughter, her husband and my 13 month old grandaughter and I
certainly applaud all young moms who have fibro. Hats off to you all!!!!!!

I take Savella and am currently taking 50 mg 2x daily without any bad side effects.
My rheumy had me on the tiration pack twice as long, so I gradually built up my dosage.
It took about 7 weeks before I noticed any change. I also take Flexeril, but only use it
when I am flaring. In the past I have tried Cymbalta but it made me dizzy and nauseas.

If you put in a search for Savella on the top of the page, you can read some of the
older posts. There has been a lot of discusion about Savella in the past.
