Bookworm,
Like Vesta said some of us have had good luck with the herbs. I've only been to the drs once this year
for a sinus infection I couldn't kick. They had a fire safety thing at work so I inhaled lighter fluid fumes for
2 days. I'm very chemical sensitive, where smells bother me badly. I can't use perfume anything anymore.
If there is a chemical in meds (like flu shots) it floors me.
I lucked out and talked to a different guy at the herbal shop that I go to and got on a combo of
Malic Acid, Super Cissus RX and Bio-Sil. The malic acid detoxes and works as a muscle relaxer,
the bio-sil rebuilds callogen, and the super cissus rebuilds muscles, tendons and ligaments. This trio
works great for my fibro and arthritis. I only take a couple doses of aleeve a month now. For skin the
best combo is Colostrum (bovine breast milk) and hylaronic acid (found in japanese food). It rebuilds
the skin from the inside. It is wonderful for healing, texture and thickness....not to mention the ITCHING.
I think I found the missing link today...it's called True Calm by NOW brand. It's a mixture of niacin,
vit B-6, malic acid, GABA, Glycine, Taurine, Inositol and Valerian Root. It works on the neurotransmitters
like amatriptolyne, lyrica and such. Seeing as I'm getting my fall owies I'm going to start on it tonite.
I'll let you know how it works.
If you do go herbal sometimes it just takes finding what works for you, this has been my saving grace.
Good luck.
