We are no different than anyone else on the planet. We still have all the dreams and desires that others have only some days it's hard to remember that. So in here we are 'normal' folks again...for a little while.
Today let's talk about
one of our best attended topics...food! And these are yummy holiday foods. I think many of us bake something special at Christmas time or other holiday if that's how you celebrate in winter time. Either way we love to make those once-a-year treats for our famliies. I do know that many of us have cut down on what me make due to limitations but what are the one, or few, delights that you won't give up making this time of year.
Around this house we always make Baklava! A dear friend is Greek and it's her recipe. So I need to be getting the phyllo dough and make sure I have enough nuts on hand for the recipe. It's a tradition that hubby and I do together. If I make anything else it will likely be some
cookies like spritz or tea cakes. I'm like so many others who used to bake for the entire community ... it seemed like anyway. Now it's a small amount but I'm OK with it. I keep plenty busy anyway with kids and grandkids and with the other gals in the family baking we seem to have more than we know what to do with. One thing I might just make this year are my uncle's homemade caramels. Wow, those were always so good.
Is there something you are going to make special this holiday season?
