Hi everyone! I came in November to ask about a new symptom and waiting to go see another doctor.

I went to see my doctor and it was just more of the same, wait and see. He did order a whole new set of blood tests which came back fine just like last time. I did gain 15pounds from cymbalta though mad

I went to see this other doctor and I'm doing a sleep study next week and then go from there. I'm on no meds right now except the Amitriptyline and I'm hurting. I really want to try lyrica so we'll see what the dr says after my sleep study.

All I can say is that the cymbalta was working for the pain real well and I am hurting in more places than ever before. I have a lot more tender points and of course my cats have to walk on them just right, lol.

I said I'd come back and tell you guys so here I am.

Hi Marie, sorry you are hurting. It is trial and error to find a med that will work to relieve
pain. You mention the Cymbalta helped the pain. Did you quit because of weight gain?

I'm taking Savella and have been on it since April, it has helped some and I haven't gained
any weight. I do take Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) a muscle relaxer when I am flaring.

Exercise and heat have helped me with the pain. Walking, stretching, working out with
resistance bands helps me relieve some stress, builds muscle and helps keep the kinks
out. If I didn't exercise on a daily basis I would be hurting all the more.

I know what you mean about the cats hitting all the wrong places, I have two cats that
have located all my tender points, but I love anyway.


Hoping that your doctor can provide some relief and that your sleep study goes well.

I quit because it was supposed to be for energy but it wasn't helping for energy. My pain wasn't so bad before but this was back in July. I was on effexor before but it did nothing for me. So he told me to up the dose to 60 and I was a zombie. I slept for 20 hours and couldn't stay awake. That hit me 3 weeks after I upped the dose and I couldn't get ahold of anyone at the dr's office and I couldn't go back down to 30 since I didn't have any pills and I just stopped taking it.
My new dr wants to wait until after the sleep study to discuss meds. I'm waiting patiently...and in pain but I'm still here and kicking.

My problem is getting energy back. I'm struggling really hard. My house has like 2 inches of dust all over it.

I love my cats but this one walks all over me and he just hits them right on and I have to shoo him gently and not bounce him off the walls like my arm wants to do. lol He finally settles next to me and sleeps there all night.

Marie, you are more than likely hurting more because of the change in temperature. There
seems to be alot of us who flare in cold weather. Exercise helps with my energy levels. I
feel better after a walk. I exercise even when I am flaring. I'm in a flare now and today
I dusted my hardwood floors wearing slipper socks. I just pretended I was iceskating and
when I was done I threw the socks in the wash. Fatigue still can be a problem for me
because I get bouts of insomnia and then there are days I can sleep 12 hours.

Hope your cats tip toe around those tender points..lol

lol you are probably right about the cold and I stopped exercising too. I need to get back with it. I struggle to get up every day. I just need to remind myself that 2 extra hours won't help but if i get up now, I will be feeling ok after 2 hours. I have to take a bath, start moving around and then I feel half way decent, just don't ask me to do anything. LOL
