Just a 'nothing' post

My 82 year old neighbor is on the second story of his house shoveling the snow off his roof.  His 80 year old wife is below him on the ground, moving the snow he throws down so it will not sit there in piles.  He has run his snow blower twice since 7:00 this morning.  These are the people that scrub the siding on their house with a toothbrush, pick the weeds out of their lawn with a knife and a fork and power wash their driveway every other day during the summer.  I, on the other hand, took three swipes across my deck with a shovel this morning so my poor old dog could get out to pee.  I had to get on the heating pad ten minutes later.  No point to this really, except I watch them and wonder what I will be doing at 80.  I'm jealous...yes I am.  That's it...I'm really really jealous.  Bad fibromite.  Now I'll go sit in my fibro chair and pout.

Dearest Robin.   You will live to be 60, and not only that, I will dance with you at your grand daughters wedding!  THAT, my friend is a promise! (she WILL be serving Milky Ways on a platter, won't she?)

Poor Donna. Go offer pain killers, at the very least. I lived next door to these people.

Donna, I had neighbors who came down here during the summer and the husband was always on the roof or up a ladder. He had to be late 80's the last time he did that. His wife said he did the same thing at their full time house. He was so spry. They were such great neighbors AND friends. He has since passed away but his wife is 90+ and still driving and we keep in touch. She is inspiring to me. She is like another mother to me. We talk each other thru the bad times, and laugh about the fun we had when we were all together.

Robin, I'm a yr behind you and, my friend, we will all be here together for many yrs. I like Donna's idea. I say book the hall now for your DGD's wedding, so we will know where to go and we can brush up on our dancing lessons. We can have a Milky Way toast to the Bride. Followed by a Tylenol nightcap. What an image.   I am sending you warm wishes for a wonderful New Year, filled w/ Hope and good health!

Donna, you are not a bad fibromite. I say at 80 you will have the same delicious wit and style we love around here. Everyone has their own gift they bring to this world, you share yours w/ us every day. Bless YOU!

Never was this clearer to me than this past summer..cait found me in seizure and from there life support...i do not take any day for granted but if i..cannot do something i wont..i use to be so ocd about gardens housework you name it now i hv to work at a pace for me..i am getting stronger each day...thanks to the love of my cait n family here...huggles..lyn

it is hard when you see older people , say like my Mom in her 70's with very bad arthritis in her knee's..but I wish I could keep up...I am worse than a 80 yr old. ,, I used to be able to do anything. . shoot I cut fire wood for a living before, did handy man work. had a landscaping co. of my own.. ya I worked a mans job.. now can't even keep my house clean.. used to be able to clean the whole house in 4 hours. this includes walls.. now .. no way . its never clean enough for me.. but I have to accept it as it is.

Donna, I always love your posts.  I am 36 and most days do well just to "maintain" a job and home life.  My husbands step-grandfather is 88 and still hunts, climbs mountains and various other activities.  I must say I am envious.  This fibro family really keeps me hopeful.  Soft hugs and a Happy New Year to all!
