Friday....It's Friday.... Koffee Klatch time~~

Remember back to high school??? OK, for some of us it was like yesterday and for others it's ancient history. There were always classes that seems so stupid to take. What good would they do you anyway! So, in your opinion, what do you think the most useless class in high school is/was?

I guess we ought to hold this to one each or we may bring a server down...lol For me it was study hall...or whatever they call is these days....academy, home room, free period. But I guess that isn't a class so I would have to say literature. I can understand basic English and composition, but literature?? It only slowed my reading to a crawl, bored the crackers out of me and to this day makes me wonder why people read some of the things they do. We were given a list to choose from and everything on it was fiction. Why in the world when I'm trying to learn math, science, etc.. do I want to read stuff that isn't even true? Ya, I'm a very literal thinker and my own mother even called me boring and stuffy...lol...but for me literature was a waste of time. It also took up the time slot I needed for another physics class...grrrrr. OK, that was in the dark ages...so how about the rest of you. What class in high school seemed perfectly worthless?

Mechanical drawing.  I thought it would be a 'piece of cake' class and an easy credit.  OMG...is all I have to say and I have never touched a protractor since.  Geometry was no thrill either.  Who ever uses all those theorums and postulates in every day life...like I could remember even one of them anyway.

Geometry, no question about it. First, I can barely memorize my phone number, so expecting me to memorize theorem and such is laughable. Second, if Pythagoris proved it several millenia ago, why do I need to do it again? Third, who except architects and engineers ever uses this stuff? Even when I was in the class, I knew I would never use what I was learning again, and I haven't.

Oh, did I ever hate algebra and plane geometry!  The only reason I passed algebra is my teacher took pity on me.  I would stay after school every night and he would tutor me but I never passed an assignment, quiz, or test.  He told me he passed me because he never had a student work so hard at trying to get it!     

BUT, in answer to Chutz's question, Latin was without a doubt the most useless subject I took.  I took two years of it because I was planning on going into premed in college.  I obviously changed my mind.

I'd say it was a toss-up between math and secretarial practice. I stunk at math. I can get the
right answer but it takes me forever. I never had anything beyond 8th grade math....think they'll
recind my diploma?

With secretarial practice, I had a teacher who could mumble at 110 words a minute. OMG

Yo yo, when I started to college I had to start with non credited math class just to get up to algebra.
