Could symtoms returning negative blood tests results etc still be the result of fibromyalgia?

Hi, Sarah, and welcome!  Yes, she possibly could have fibromyalgia.  No, the pain is not in her head.  Many of us have heard that one before! We do have everything you listed that is happening to your Mom. 

 

You and she should check out Fibro 101...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to good information about fibromyalgia, including a list of symptoms.  She might see herself there!  You both will learn a lot.

 

It's very frustrating when you are searching for answers and there are none.  That's why she is acting out but, once she does get a diagnosis, things will fall back into place. 

 

Doctors usually test for other illnesses to rule them out before a diagnosis of fibro is given.  She needs a doctor that does believe that fibromyalgia is an illness.  There are still doctors out there that don't!  I use a board certified Internist as my doctor and many on the forum use a rheumatologist.  No matter what, make sure they treat patients with fibromyalgia.

Hi Sarah T, yep my doc eliminated lots of other things thats why blood tests etc come back negative to diagnose your mum with FM
