electric heat blankets?

Does anyone use an electric heat blanket for the warmth.  Last night my neices stayed at my house(ages 3 and 5), the three year old was not feeling well and was running mild temp. she climb in bed with me.  I was worried because i didn't want to roll over on her and ended up not getting much sleep which is normal lately anyway but I was also a little on the "in heaven" side because the heat from her body was like heaven to my pain relief obviously no need for bed buddy last night I had a two legged one poor baby.

Anyway i was wondering if anyone uses the heat blankets and does it help?  I see the bed buddies with rice a lot but havent' really seen the use of the blankets.

I recently bought an electric blanket and I don't want to live without it now. I was always FREEZING. Not a problem any more, of course! And I do not feel as stiff and achy when I get up in the morning. Wouldn't trade it for anything now that I have it. I would definitely say it is worth a try!

Oh yeah, when we gave up our water bed many, many years ago we about froze since we were use to the heat so we went to electric mattress pad but the wires in it started bothering me (princess and the pea) so now we have an electric blanket and I don't think either one of us would give it up. We turn it on a few minutes before we go to bed so it's nice and warm when we crawl into bed. I don't like a bunch of heavy blankets on me, too much weight, so I sleep with sheet and electric blanket.

I like my heated blanket. the problem is that I was expecting/hoping for a giant heating pad, but it doesnt get that hot! lol. but i do feel better warmer than colder.

try an outlet store, or ebay for a good price. they can be expensive.

I also use a electric heated mattress pad . It has dual controls which is great because my hubby is warm blooded !
Between that and a heated blanket - I never want to get out of bed . However when I do , I feel a lot less sore .

I wish I could use a heated blanket because I know how much heat helps with pain. Unfortunately, I am dealing with major hot flushes and massive sweating from the Cymbalta and Tramacet I'm taking. I alternate between having a light blanket on me, and throwing it off when a hot flush starts (and then fanning myself, or grabbing an ice pack to cool off).

I feel like I'm caught between a rock and hard place...plus my hubby is a furnace in bed and radiates heat like crazy. Maybe I should try to capture the excess heat and sell it!

I have the heated mattress pad and I love it. The wires bothered me too at first (another princess here Marlee!) I put another regular mattress pad on top of the heated one and now I don't feel the wires.

I would feel the wires so I would have to have the blanket. I can feel the little threads in the matress so I have to put a couple sheets on the bed. My skin is so sensitive too just the littlest edge of something can cause scratches.

Since my waterbed broke I've been using an air mattress which is soooo cold. Even with an electric blanket I was cold so I put
3 blankets under the sheets then the electric blanket. The heat makes life so much more bearable but the way it sits on the
bed it leaves cold spots in places. I'm defineately going to get a new waterbed mattress. I buy the waveless supreme so it doesn't
have that much motion. I really HATE the air mattress as it always needs refilling and when my man gets into bed it just about
shoots me into orbit.

In winter I could not survive without the electric blanket in winter. My husband was not in favore of it too start with and now he would not be without it. A wonderful invention and so necessary for us with FMS.

Okay so  I got a electric heat blanket I like it because it helps to keep me warm and it does help with the pain a little bit but like someone else says it doesn't get really warm... I had it all the way up and my cherry pit heat thing was warmer but it does help until I go to get out of the bed then the cold air hits and everything hurts... Is summer here yet? :)
