One more week til we turn the clocks up. Had to give you an update. devil Two weeks til spring. 

Turning the clocks up that hour lifts my spirits so much, does it do that to the rest of you???

Yay!!!

I don't like losing the hour of sleep that first night, but I definitely love the extra sunshine it brings.

I must have the Spring cleaning bug because my cluttered house is about to drive me crazy. I cleaned out TWO whole cabinets today! Doesn't sound like much, but it sure made me feel good. :)

Yes I am excited too. Plus I get my new puppy in a week. I am going to go and help bathe the pups today. I am so excited.

And Marlee, I am glad to see you so excited. It does lift our spirits. I too feel like I lose an hour of sleep the first day or so, but get use to it.

I lOVE daylight savings time.  I don't have a clue why they just don't keep it all year around.  It's dark in the morning for the kids on Eastern Standard Time...at least around here.  But, yes, I agree.  I'm looking forward to getting out in the yard and planting flowers.

 

It's rainy and 55 degrees here in Florida.  I'm usually at the beach in February.  Bummer!

I think you've been sniffing the fabric softener again! We have MOUNTAINS of snow here in central Michigan and it's still coming down. Granddaughter made a snowman as big as herself and it got buried in all the subsequent snowfall. Personally, I'm not sure we will see spring until June.

One thing I remember though. It seems that there is a weather prediction that when we get more than 10 inches of snow in February we have terrible high temps and drought in July/August. One of those La Nina, El Nino thingies. Have to wait and see.

Puppy in a week? I hear "puppy" and my ears perked up!!! Well, I guess it was my eyes cause I'm reading it. Anyway, tell me more? What kind of puppy? You are going to have so much fun bathing those little critters.

I was on the As Good As Gold website last night, a rescue group that rescues Goldens and Golden mix, and there were some young dogs on there, not puppies, but about 18 months old and I was so tempted, but I had to walk away...I have two now and at times, it's really more than I can handle, but I'll tell you one thing, if I had the money, I'd buy myself a huge parcel of land somewhere and rescue dogs, maybe even breed a few Goldens...that would be a perfect life for me!

Congratulations and enjoy your new baby! Your adrenaline is going to be through the roof!

It will take my body time to adjust to the time change but that is okay with me, bring on the longer days.

 

Karebear, I'm so excited for you getting the puppy and good timing too. What are you going to name her???

 

I'm sorry Jeannie but just think the longer the days get the more sunshine to melt the snow. smilewinkgrin

 

I have been watching the sun come up every morning this winter, since our family room faces the east, and the thrill is gone for me Sherrine. Even the girls are smart enough to go back to bed after they go out and go potty in the dark. tongue

 

Austen, I have had the spring cleaning bug all winter and the only thing I have accomplished is my office closet and now I'm working on a family picture gallery in my living room that will take til summer to finish. So much for that long list of to do things. I have managed to make more of a mess than anything else with stuff sitting all over the house that I have no where to put. But it does feel good to be moving forward even if it is at a snails pace.

Karen, you're getting your puppy in a week?  How wonderful!  I missed your first mention because we were typing our posts at the same time.  Ohhhh, pretty soon, many puppy kisses are coming your way!  I'm so happy for you.

 

Marlee, my family room faces the east also.  I love watching the sun come up but I'd like them to keep daylight savings time all year around because I especially like it to stay light longer so I'm not grilling in the dark.  I know, you can't grill in the winter without mukluks on!  devil

Well, I helped bathe the puppies today. They are german shepherds, and to my delight, she is going to give me one out of her next batch in August. I am so excited. Not sure about the second one, as I have to see how the first one goes. But we originally wanted a male and we are getting a female. I have named her Jasmine. She is so cute and her ears are already standing up. That is so cool. She loves to give kisses and loves to be held. Just what I need. She was a delight to be with today. I can't wait until next Saturday. But have to get a crate and some dogfood. She is giving me a collar and leash and brush and shampoo for her. I had a blast.

I love goldens too. They are so smart. And I too would rescue dogs if I could. They love so uncontitionally. Well after writing and reading on the appetizer thread, I am hungry. So I am going to eat.

Marlee, a couple of days ago we had a record low of -6, I have 20 some inches of snow on my deck that the sun is shining on. I like DST although it takes me a while to get used to the change, but I really don't think spring will be here very soon. Diane

Diane your not that far from me unless you live on the west side of the state. Sorry, but I'm glad we didn't get that cold front. It is suppose to be in the high 30s today and for the next few days. That doesn't mean winter is over cause we could still get a blizzard.

 

My neighbor and I were looking online for them a puppy the other night and I seen these maltese/shih tzu puppies and told her I had to stop looking at puppies if I wanted to stay married. I only have two hands so I guess I better stop at two. Mine have to be groomed every six weeks and that is pricey enough without adding another that has to be groomed. Talked myself out of that one.smilewinkgrin

 

I don't know how you girls handle the big dogs I don't think I could. These two wear me out and they total about 24 lbs.

 

You will have to pass the puppy kisses to us Karebear.

I am meeting the breeder today to get my pup microchipped. and Saturday I bring her home. Her name is Jasmine.

Some big dogs are mellow Marlee, but my Dharma was not. She was very high strung. This pup is the most mellow one of the bunch. And is the runt. Already knows her name. It is cute.

We are having a warming trend this week. Glad to see that come. 30's and 40's all week. Yay!!!

I love it when the time changes. I'm in California but we have had a wet and some what cloudy winter.
Did I hear puppy talk? How exciting for you. My puppy is almost 3 now but she acts like a puppy still. Mirium, I love the As Good As Gold website. My favorite thing to watch is the dancing dog. I forgot it's name and it is gone now but how much fun he and his 'mom' had for so many years.

Yes you did hear puppy talk. Her microchipping went well, though she was the only one that cried, big baby... She is a german shepherd dog. Wont be little very long. I am going to get out in the sun today and walk my other dog. She is Australian cattle dog and 14 years old now. But still spunky on her walks. But in the house she slows down, sleeps a lot and snores loudly. lol...

I hope that everybody is haveing a wonderful painfree day!!!

Are you going to spend all week preparing for the new arrival Karebear??? Since Brandy was our last dog, yeah right, I had to start all over with buying everything before we got Krissy. I hope my neighbor gets a puppy so I can have some puppy kisses. Krissy will be 18 mos old tomorrow and Tique a year old the 17th, doesn't seem possible. They are still my babies though.

Actually yesterday I went to town and got her crate, dogfood, dog dish and some toys. The breeder will give me a collar and leash, shampoo and toys too. So she will have lots. Right now we are in the process of getting all the electrical wires and phone wires etc. off of the floor so she can't chew them. I guess I have to puppy proof.lol...

I just walked Chance. It is beautiful outside today. In the upper 30's. I love it. I hope that it stays this way so that I can get out of the house a lot more. I took a leave of absence off of work due to the cold weather, but we have had a mild winter so far (knock on wood). We have missed a lot of storms that have hit north and south of us. We have been so very lucky.

It is hard to believe that your babies are a year old already, it seems like you just got them. Time sure flies doesn't it? I bet that you are enjoying them and they enjoy eachother's company. Yeah, I love puppy kisses and puppy breath too. lol... I know, I am wierd. But puppies are so sweet. Mine grunts and gives lots of kisses. I can't wait until Saturday to bring her home. Only 5 more days. lol...

Have a great day Marlee. Enjoy those babies. At least yours stay little forever. Mine will be big in no time. I will send you an email with a photo of her.
