Anyone else had a bug you can't shake???

I don't know what this is but it won't go away and I don't have time for it. DH had it really bad but I kept taking Zicam so it didn't seem to hit me as hard but I'm still a little congested and have less energy than normal, if that is possible, and it is going on two weeks now.

 

The problem is great grandson's first birthday party is Sat and if I have to miss it for any reason I will sit and cry all day over it, I don't miss my grandchildren's birthday parties. Of course I don't want to infect anyone either if I have something contagious.

 

Thanks, just checking to see if anyone else has had anything like this???

Yes, and it can be nasty. I especially get sore throats a lot, sometimes it's a bacterial infection, usually it's "just" a virus. Sorry.

Yes, Marlee...I have had some kind of bug since the beginning of March.  I have what I thought was a cold sore that won't go away and sinus congestion that keeps on, keeps on.  Some days I wake up and think it's gone...only to have it return a few days later.  A sore throat that comes and goes also.  I have talked to many people who have been hit by weird viruses over the winter and they seem to linger.  Of course with a virus, anitbiotics are useless.  I am hoping now that the snow is gone, this will disappear with it.

Yup! We got it here at the end of January. We call it (music starting) "the cold that never ends. It just goes on and on my friend!" Finished the last of the coughing last week. Daughter still has the sinus stuff.

Chances are that everyone at the party has already been exposed to it so I wouldn't worry about attending the party. The kids pass around more germs at school than we can see in a month of going to the grocery store or church. Actually, the hazards of attending are more against you with your lowered resistance. Go and enjoy! Just keep drinking gallons of water to flush the dumb bugs out.

I got the cold on Jan. 1. I'm still coughing a little, but mostly it's been gone for a month or so.

Marlee, hope you're feeling alot better for your sweet great grandson's birthday.

I was prescribed a Z-Pak when I had my chest stuff going on in the Fall. An infection
can really tire you. Keep drinking fluids to help flush the "gunk" out.

Not exactly what I was wanting to hear girls but thanks for the warnings. I ran to Walmart for a few things, I have only been out of the house twice now in two weeks, and by the time I got to the grocery department to pick up a few things I felt so bad I grabbed paper plates and TP and went and checked out so I could get home. I'm glad DH enjoys grocery shopping as much as he does cause the frig is getting bare.

 

Of course it doesn't help my head any that it shot up to 78 degrees so far today and here in central Illinois when it gets that hot that fast you can bet there are storms on the way or even tornados.

 

Yeah we haven't seen much of the grandkids this winter cause one of them always seem to have something and son won't bring them around if any of them are sick, which we do appreciate.

 

Shayne's party is only for two hours so I have to be able to make it that long even if I stay away from him the whole time.

 

I have a doc app scheduled for this coming Mon anyway for three month check.
