Hi Kelsie - My daughter goes to bed by 10 or 11, but was unable to get to sleep until much later - sometimes not until 3:30 am. Twice she never feel asleep all night long. She only has Ambien for 6 nights. Her doctor doesn't want her on it long term. Two nights in a row she has gotten to sleep by 11:30 pm. I am just afraid that when she stops taking it that she won't be able to get to sleep again.
I h ope your daughter has a great time at her prom. My daughter wants to go to a friends house this evening for a movie with a few other people. I will let her. I am always afraid that she will do more than she should because she feels a bit better.
Like you, we do better if I don't mention homework/schoolwork. She has always been on top of things (she was a high honors student before this year) and I never had to get involved with her work. But since she got sick I found myself asking if she did her work. She gets it done as long as I stay out of it. She really is a good kid - I hope she stays that way.
Really, where can we buy that instruction manual that should have come with our kids???!!!!
One doctor did diagnose her with POTS and gave her a beta blocker. However, we switched doctors and he feels differently about POTS. We stopped the beta blocker. Time will tell with her. I will say that she doesn't look as bad as she did. So, we are really just trying to straighten out the sleep issues. Yes, withour Ambien she can't get to sleep. Her sleep seems ok once a sleep. However, I have no idea the quality of sleep she is getting. One step at a time. I am jsut glad the Lyrica is helping with the pain.
Well, I need to go help my h usband and son get packed for their road trip. They are off for a business meeting and to look at a couple of colleges down south. My son is interested in meterology. Has always loved wild weather!
Anyway, can't wait to her about your daughter's prom weekend. I hope she has a great time and doesn't suffer too much afterwards.
