Believe it or not!  This new doc my Cardiologist referred me to is AWESOME!  There are no other words to describe him.  He's just that fantastic!  I had a 2:30 appointment, was seen immediately and he was with me until 3:45.  He introduced himself, told me all about his education, what he expected in a patient and what he would deliver as my doctor.  He made sure that I understood he was NOT a CORPORATE doctor and didn't see his patients as numbers.  He was beyond thorough and went thru all my records.  He didn't understand the constant shuffle of doctors I had been thru but promised that wouldn't happen with him unless absolutely necessary.  WOW!  So, WE set a plan in action and it looks like I may be in very good hands.  I do believe my cardiologist DEFINITELY has my best interest in mind by referring me to him!

A really nice thing about this new doc is he is a believer in FIBRO!  However, after reviewing all my records he said I have too many red flags that would indicate something other than Fibro is going on with me.  He also reviewed my MRI's and found a subnote from the Physician who read my films.  Seems as though I have developed a lump on my thyroid.  He is sending me for an ultrasound and bloodwork to find out what's going on.

I'm finally on the right track.  WOOHOO!

P.S.  No surgery for now.  Insurance requires I follow certain protocol for my SLAP tear before they will authorize it.  And because I can't take NSAID's because of my heart, I have to have injections into my shoulder.  FUN, Fun, fun-----NOT!

I'm so glad you found such a great doctor!  Sounds kind of like mine.  That's why I always get a morning appointment because he is never in a rush to move to the next patient.  He stays until all questions are answered and he is through, too.  That's a nice feeling and now  you will know how it feels to have someone that really does care about their patients.  Congrats!

 

I'll be praying that anything else he might find is very minor.

Congratulations lostnomad! Isn't it wonderful when you find a doctor who truly wants to help you instead of just rotate you in and out the door. I've been lucky to have a fantastic family doctor and a super team at the Chronic Pain Centre I'm a patient at. Each of them is interested in helping me have the best quality of life I can at any point in the day/night

To me, having a great doctor means all the difference in how well I manage my pain. I hope you get great results with this one and that you are finally able to find answers on what works for you, so you have relief.

That is absoluteyl great that you found a good doc!!!  Too bad everyone on here does not have such luck.

Finding a good doctor to take the time to listen and explain without making you feel rushed is
wonderful. It took me awhile to find one that fits that description.

I'm happy that you were able to find such a good doctor. It does make a differance when
you find a doctor who really cares! You feel like he really does have your best interest
at heart. You are on the tright track!!!

I am so happy for you. I wish we lived close to each other so I could go see this doctor. I hope everything goes well with your tests. But I am so very happy and excited for you. I know you have been on a long road with doctors. I wish you the best of luck. Keep us posted.

Woohoo! That is wonderful news. I love my doctor and it means so much to be able to trust that we are getting the best care possible. I am so happy for you!

congrats! im am only 19 but am convinced i have fibro or something of the sort. all the symptoms match up. but i live in a small town and have been to every doctor within a hundred miles of me and still havent found a decent one. its incredibly frustrating. thats great you found a doctor that actually cares about people.

Congrats! I actually follow practice with my Primarry doctor, cuz he is like that. Same with my dentist. He goes, I go. Where he goes, I go. I've followed my primary doctor to 3 buildings now, and my dentist 2 buildings. I just hope they will just open a private practice and merge into the same building LOL!
