predisone helping with costochondritis

Finally some help. It is better today. The dr. did call me in some pain medicine just incase I needed it.Thanks for all the prayers.

I'm glad it is helping. I have costochondritis as well and it can get very painfull at times. I am on hydrocortisone(steroid) at the moment and it helps the pain alot.

I am so happy that you got something for your pain. What did the doctor give you? I hope that it helps. Costo is no fun. I am starting to get that a little, but not bad. But my muscles in my chest get tight when I turn the wrong way. No fun at all. I am afraid to move sometimes.

Glad you have found some help.  I have chronic costo.  It gets really bad at times.  I have taken Prednisone when it's been really bad and it has helped me too.  I just don't like taking it, it hypes me up really bad, but it is a wonderful drug.  Keep us posted.

Thanks everyone. Been up all night tossing and turning so my ribcage is sore. I think the predisone is not helping with the sleep. I am weaning down on the predisone....3 for 2 days and 2 for 2 days then 1 for 2 days. The dr. gave me vicodin for pain. I wasn't able to get to the pharmacy yesterday unfortunatly. I will go get in this morning for sure. I have had real bad heartburn since taking the predisone, is that normal, I have a sensitive stomach.

How much prednisone is everyone taking? I was on 20 mg at bedtime and second morning had such a headache I thought I was having a stroke. The headache went on for three more days after I stopped taking it.
