How many of you get muscle weakness?  If you do have this is it from something other than Fibro?  I am going back to the Dr. Wednesday about this as well as some other issues.

Libby I get muscle weakness. Fibro causes pain and fatigue in the muscle but
the muscles are not being destroyed. Muscle fatigue makes us feel weak.

I have seen a neurologist who did an EMG to check my muscles in my forearm.

There was no muscle damage. I have lost subcutnaeous tissue where my forearm

shows atrophy. This is related to MCTD

Curious, whose idea was it for you to see a neurologist? I've never seen one nor been referred to one.

I have severe atrophy. My legs give in constantly. I have very little muscle on the bones on my legs.
I routinely fall or crash into things. Today I have been dealing with a sprain of sorts with my left leg/ankle do to a stumble. Hard to move ankle to the right and left. Atrophy is not fun at all.

archiestyles, I was referrred to a neurologist by my rheumy because of my MCTD.
I have a 3" "dent " morphea on my forearm and linear scleroderma up my arm.

Have you been checked for polymyositis? Definately talk to your doctor!

My Rheumy simply referred me to PT and told me stop/no more laying in bed! Walk. Easier said than done obvee.
It upsets me but I try not "Obsess" over things (Who here doesn't/does watch that show ;) ). Though as we age it is no secret one is more prone to broken bones. Knock on wood.

archiestyles, I thought that your atrophy could of been related to polymyositis, but
I just read in another post that you stayed in bed for a year. I believe your legs
atrophied because of not using them...and that is why your doc has you going to PT.

Oh for sure CK. I made a mountain out of a molehill more than likely from lack of physical activity due to pain...now a shell of my former shelf.

I did look it up though..the shoe did not seem to fit. fwiw, Higher Incidences in Females and Females who are African-American. Female, but not African-American. Learn something new every day though :)
