I have a journal where I jotted down some important points from a great book. This first quote comes from that book. The quotes below it support its truth, I think.
"We remain in charge of our lives even when we are not in control. To be in charge simple means that we accept that we alone are responsible for making decisions about
what to do or not to do with the circumstances (the cards) dealt us."
From "Embracing Fear. How to turn what scares us into our greatest gift." by Thom Rutledge, psychotherapist.
--------
The block of granite which was an obstacle in the pathway of the weak becomes a stepping-stone in the pathway of the strong. That block of granite is often nothing more than a decision."
— Thomas Carlyle, Scottish Historian & Essayist (1795-1881)
--------
So many people in this world have come to believe that they are locked into their life pattern ...yet, new perception choices can truly set us free.
Chelle Thompson
--------
The golden opportunity you are seeking is in yourself. It is not in your environment, it is not in luck or chance, or the help of others; it is in yourself alone.
Orison Sweet Marden
--------
You cannot afford to wait for perfect conditions. Goal setting is often a matter of balancing timing against available resources. Opportunities are easily lost while waiting for perfect conditions.
Gary Ryan Blair
--------
Each morning when I
open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Thanks, Robin. I'm glad you liked it. It is only the third day, but I'm finding that starting my day in this way is a big help. Unless the majority here disapproves, I'll keep posting each day. It is great therapy for me.
