Foot pain

I dug around on the web and found several good sites that give information on what you seem to be describing. The redness on the bottoms of the feet would be the most worrisome especially if it feels warm to the touch, in my opinion. It could be anything from cellulitis to an allergic reaction to shoes. But I certainly would get to your doctor and ask him to look at it. Cellulitis is an inflammation in the layers of cells under the skin. It can be a clue to a more serious and deep infection also. I'm not saying this is what you have but that it's one of the possibilities. But considering how serious cellulitis is I sure wouldn't waste any time asking having it checked.

about the heel pain...my mother had what sounds similar and hers was plantar fasciitis. This is inflammation of the plantar fascia which is a band of connective tissue under the heel pad(fascia) of the foot. The worst pain is when you first step on it in the morning. There could be other causes of this pain like bone spurs so I would suggest you have that checked out too.

As I said before, I'm not diagnosing or trying to scare you at all. I'm just sharing what my experiences have been and that of others I'm close to. But please do have your doc check out the redness. Most often redness, especially if the skin feels warm, is a sigh on infection and/or inflammation.
