If any of you pray, I could sure use some prayers right about now. I had made a previous post about our dog having Lymphoma. His lymph nodes have gone down but now he's not wanting to eat and he's been picking at his food. Wow, this is really hard. I feel like I'm losing a family member. The sad part is that I wish I had caught this early. There are different things I could have tried on him like Immunity boosters. Now, I am beating myself up and I am feeling terrible. Please say some prayers for my family and I. Thanks so much everyone.

Oh CajunGrl, I am so sorry for you that the time has come for your dog to go to heaven. Yes I do believe that they go to heaven because of all the joy that they bring us. They deserve it more than some people I know! Please, please don't beat yourself up about this. I know that is hard because I do it too. Animals are very good at hiding their problems. Unfortunately hindsight is 20-20 but there really is only so much you can do. I wish I could be with you right now to give you a big hug and tell you that I'm sure that you did the best you could. So sorry. I have dogs and really can understand your pain. Don't beat yourself down cause of this. These things happen unfortunately. Never easy. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry that you have to go through this. I will be praying for you and your family that God will be with you. I also believe that we will see our pets again someday. I know how hard this is and I wish there was something I could say that would take the pain away. my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm so sorry, CajunGirl. It is not your fault, and most likely there wasn't anything you could have done to prevent/delay it. Please try not to beat yourself up. I'm praying for comfort and peace for you and your family.

I am so sorry. I always cry when I read posts like this, brings back memories and not so good ones.

Did you try some yummy people food, who cares at a time like this.

Just remember that you are doing the most selfless thing for your buddy that you can ever do.

CajunGrl, I'm so sorry about your dog! We lost 2 of our cats last year to breast cancer. My son, husband and I sat there and cried our eyes out. You'll get a lot of love from the members here. wink

Don't beat yourself up about it.  It really hurts to lose a pet, they are truly part of the family.  We lost our English Bulldog two years ago this month and it was horrible.  But he had a wonderful life while we had him and he brought us soooo much joy.  It sounds like it's been the same with your dog.  I will be praying for you and your family.  Take care and keep us posted.

I'm so very sorry.  I'm sending hugs and you and your family will be in my thoughts.  I understand about feeling you are losing a part of your family.  My pets are definetely a part of our family and it's very hard to say goodbye.  Just know that your dog will be in a better place and I agree with the other poster who said they believe you will see your dog again another day.

Cajun, I'm so sorry.  You have given your pup a loving home.  I can tell from your posts.  There are some things we can't control and as one member said, animals are good at "hiding" illnesses.  So, please don't blame yourself. 

 

Yes, I do believe we will see our pets again.  I will have quite a few waiting for me when I arrive!  I will say a prayer for you.

I truly feel your pain, Cajun, and know only too well what you are going through. Even though it is the "right thing to do" it doesn't make it any easier on us. Try to remember the good times, all the love he/she gave you, the unconditional love and then just be there for him, and try to make his last days as painless as possible. At this point, doesn't really matter what quality food you give him. Take him to McDonald's for a burger, or bring one home for him, or cook something for him. My thoughts are with you

I am so sorry, I've looked at this post, went to come in here, then went back out. I wish I could say something to make you feel better, but I can't. I will be praying for you and your family during this so very hard time. I don't know how much religion we can talk about in here, but I do know that the God I serve, will be waiting with open arms when it comes time for your faithful friend to come back home. Your puppy will be fine, its the family still here that will be hurting. Please know that others are thinking of you and care and love you!!!!

I am so sorry that you have to go thru this. I have had to do the same and there are no words that will take away the pain. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers....the 2 legged...and 4 legged members. I firmly believe that my pets are family members who love unconditionally...and are always glad to see us. For this we are blessed to have had a wonderful relationship with them. I hope with time your memories will be more happy than sad. I have not read all of the responses but I do know that your puppy will have a wonderful place to wait for you. Big but gentle hugs to you.

Thanks so much everyone. I truly appreciate you all reaching out and sharing your stories. My husband is taking it hard right now as he was closest to him. He is a strong man too and I know that if he breaks down, I will lose it. He isn't even getting up when my husband walks in the door so we will have to put him down tomorrow morning. I wish this was easier.

Honestly, it never gets easier. That I'm sure doesn't help and I'm sorry. When you love your animals as much as we all do, it is heartbreaking to lose them, but I'll say it again, it is the most selfless act we can do for them.

cajungirl, I'm soooo sorry. I feel for you. about a year and a half ago I had the terrible task of doing the same. My old guy Jake(yellow lab) was 14 and couldn't walk so I had to make the decision to let him go. Then we found out my other lab (tobie) was sick too. She passed 3 weeks later. I was devistated. I feel for you and will be praying for you & your family to get through this tough time.

Thanks so much for the support everyone. I feel like I have to be strong because I am a Moderator, but it's just not happening right now. We had to put our dog down yesterday morning. I feel like it was the best thing to do to end his suffering but my mind and my heart still cannot come to terms with that decision. My husband brought him because I could not watch something like that and I don't want to remember him like that. I've have been crying off and on all day yesterday and as you all probably notice, I am up at almost 3 in the morning because I can't sleep. I wake up and the first thing that comes to my mind is the decision we had to make, then my heart drops to my stomach. This has been happening all night long. I guess I am a sensitive person when it comes to these things. Anyway, I know as time passes by that I will get through it and feel better. I just wish it would get to that point fast. Thank you all again for the continued support. Love you guys:)

So sorry, I had to do the same thing about a yr ago with our precious 16 yr ol beagle. It does get better, just keep in mind that he is no longer suffering. For a long time we would hear a bark, sounded just like her (she had a very distinctive bark). I try to remember all the good things and think when I hear that bark it is her telling us she is ok. We will get another beagle some day, right now I have a crapzu/pomeranian that is getting on up there also and I know it's gonna be so hard when that time comes. Now i'm crying with you. Pets are amazing and do so much for our well being, all we can do is our best to make their lives as great as can be......now i'm crying with you....

Confused Okie, I'm sorry the forum says you have a crapsu!  shocked    It's a protection that the forum has to keep swear words off the site.  It plays havoc with certain words and sh**su is one of them!   shakehead
